📣 Dog found - Kinlough

Does anybody recognise this dog? He was found just outside of kinlough in someone’s field, trying to locate his owner but nobody has came forward for him yet. Will be brought to the vets in the morning to be scanned but he’s safe for tonight with food and water ☺️

Met Éireann and other sources are warning of 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 (Aug 4) across parts of Ireland, including Leitrim. Storms can spook animals easily, please take action now to protect them:

✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 - Check all fences, gates, and walls. High winds can knock them down and frightened animals may escape.

✅ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 - Only bring them outside on a lead to toilet, and supervise them at all times.

✅ 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 & 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 - A scared pet can bolt in seconds if there’s a gap!

✅ 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗗 𝘁𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 - in case they do escape.

✅ 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 (𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗴𝘀 𝗲𝘁𝗰.) 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 - hutches can easily blow over or flood.

✅ 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 should be brought into a safe, secure, sheltered area before the storm hits.

💧 𝗧𝗜𝗣: If there's a risk of power cuts or water supply issues, 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱, enough for a few days of drinking and cleaning for both you and your animals.
