Welcome to Love Fur Dogs...
14 years ago, I got my first Dog Child - Ziggy the Bishon and he has been my best friend and the closest thing to a human child to me ever since. He is loyal and loving and has been there at my side for the good and bad times through much of my Adult Life. I think every dog lover has the same experience when they welcome a new Fur addition to their family. Over the years, Ziggy has gained a Brother - Rebel the Bishon and Sister - Roxi the Boxer Cross. All three are “My Children” and I love them like they are human. They have been to many Dog Groomers, but as Ziggy got older, he didn’t enjoy the experience anymore, so I wanted to learn more about how to care for his grooming needs myself and started to study Dog Grooming. I qualified in Animal Grooming with a distinction in December 2017, and the journey of Love Fur Dogs (Formerly Doggie Groom Room Dundalk) began.
I wanted to offer Dog Owners in Dundalk - the experience I was looking for, for my Ziggy. A Home environment, with only one or two dogs in the groomers care at any one time, so your Dog is getting lots of one to one attention to ensure they feel relaxed and pampered in a warm, welcoming and stress free homely environment. Having this level of personal attention also means your Dog is groomed quickly, so they are not away from you or their home for too long or left in waiting crates for long periods of time. I also provide evening appointments, as I know from my own experience it is very difficult to get the time off work Mid-Week to deliver and collect your Furbaby and Saturday appointments get booked out weeks in advance.
Unfortunately I lost my beautiful Ziggy suddenly in January 2018, due to old age.... He passed away just as I was setting up the Doggie Groom Room in our home and preparing for our first official customers. I considered naming the business to honour Ziggy, as he was my inspiration to train and find my passion for dog grooming, but eventually I decided it would be better to just always have a Photo of Ziggy in the Groom Room to remind me of how precious our pets are to us, how much joy they bring to our lives and how special each and every one of them are.... they all deserve the very best care and attention and every dog that visits me will receive the best groom and pamper I can provide, a smile on their face and lots of cuddles...
