Curly-coated breeds have beautiful coats, but they also need consistent maintenance to keep them healthy, comfortable and mat-free. Regular grooming isn’t just about looking good — it helps prevent painful matting and keeps the skin and coat in great condition 🐾

What does curly coat maintenance involve?

✂️ Regular grooming & trimming — keeping the coat at a manageable length and maintaining the desired style.

🪮 Thorough brushing & combing — working through the coat to prevent tangles and matting.

🛁 Bathing & conditioning — using appropriate products to cleanse and hydrate the coat.

💨 Professional drying — properly drying and fluffing the curls helps achieve a healthy, even finish and makes the coat easier to maintain.

Puppy grooms aren’t just about looking gorgeous — they’re about building confidence for life! ✨

So, when is the right time to start? As soon as your puppy has had the appropriate vaccinations and your groomer is happy for them to begin, early puppy grooms are a wonderful way to introduce them to the grooming experience gradually.

Those first visits are all about desensitisation: getting your pup comfortable with being touched, having their paws handled, ears checked, being brushed, hearing the dryer and experiencing the sights and sounds of the salon🛁✂️

Starting young helps your puppy learn that grooming is nothing to fear. Instead of waiting until they need a full groom, regular gentle introductions allow them to build positive associations and confidence over time.

Puppy grooms don’t have to be about achieving the perfect haircut, they’re about creating a calm, happy little pup who grows into a confident adult at the grooming table💛🐶

The earlier we start, the more positive their grooming journey can be! ✨

Little Flossy 🐾💛

Three months old and already such a little superstar! Today was her very first groom and we couldn’t have been prouder of her. She was the absolute best little girl and took everything in her stride.

Of course, she got our special Puppy Groom treatment, including her very first paw print to take home as a precious keepsake💕

Well done sweet Flossy! You were such a good girl! ✨
