☀️ A quick update from me! ☀️

With temperatures set to hit 30 degrees over the next few days, I've made the call to reschedule appointments. If I haven't contacted you.. dont worry.

Ridden assessments are such an important part of what I do — but asking horses and riders to work in this heat, is a little too much. Horse welfare always comes first, and i feel its the right decision ♥️

I hope anyone who has been moved isn't too inconvenienced — everyone's been rebooked in for friday and sunday ☺️

In the meantime… I hope you're all soaking up this gorgeous weather! It really is fabulous!

Make sure your keeping our 4 legged friends well hydrated and if you need to ride do it first thing in the morning or evening when it's cooled down ☺️ (I know you all know ☺️)

Trials are one of my favourite parts of what I do — giving you the time and space to really get to know a saddle before you commit. Hack in it, school in it, have a lesson with your coach/trainer, let your physio or bodyworker weigh in. I want you to buy with total confidence — or not buy at all if it isn't right. ♥️

To keep things clear and fair for everyone, I now have a simple trial agreement in place. Here's what to expect:
✨️5 day trial period
✨️100% deposit required upfront,
✨️€50 per day if the saddle is kept beyond day 5
✨️€100 trial fee if the saddle is returned — to reflect fair wear and use of saddle
✨️ Return of the saddle is your responsibility if you aren't keeping it

Same honesty, same me — just with a little more structure behind it. If you'd love to trial something, you know where I am. ☺️

This is drop dead gorgeous, couldn't resist getting it out for a look.

Velcro blocks front and back, dreamy leather, grippy seat, and top class craftsmanship. Black Country Saddles didn't disappoint.

Coming with our own lucky charm printed too 😉

Reflocking a saddle - Step by step

The old flocking on this saddle had gone hard and lumpy, and the saddle was asymmetrical in left to right front panels, one side much larger than the other creating a rocking motion when sat on the horses back - so we decided to take it home, reflock and send it back ready for action.

Step one - remove all the old flock, this had a mix of flocking in, these dont tend to settle together, using the same flock throughout is much better. Check tree is intact and panels etc are in good nick.

Step two - put it all back together, give a good clean

Step three - new flock in, beautiful Jacobs wool by Benridge Woolworks, check we are even and symmetrical

Step 4 - give it a good balm with Henry James Saddlery saddle grease - this stuff is so so dreamy

Tah daaaah🤩

When flocking new saddles I highly recommend you ride in them first for a few days and then we come out, check fit and add any extra flocking to ensure we are beautifully balanced going forward ☺️🍀
