We've now pedigreed 63 Connemara stallions on BreedPulse — and a few interesting patterns are starting to emerge.
The register is still growing (we know there are many more out there), but with 63 stallions submitted from 9 countries and roughly 3,400 ancestor records mapped, we're starting to see what an international snapshot of the modern Connemara breeding population looks like.
Some of what we're seeing in the sample so far:
🐎 Carna Bobby (foaled 1946) appears in the pedigree of nearly every stallion we've added — often 4 or 5 times in the same 5-generation tree
🐎 Silver Shadow has 8 direct descendants in the register so far
🐎 Just 6 of the 63 are under 143cm — small-pony stallions are looking like a scarce category
🐎 Around 10% carry continental outcross blood (French, Dutch, Danish, Australian)
🐎 Two studs are standing half-brother stallions out of the same dam
The more stallions we have on the register, the more accurate and useful these patterns become — for breeders, for breed societies, and for anyone making mating decisions for the 2026 season.
Going live end of this week. If your stallion isn't on there yet, claim a free verified listing now — wherever you are in the world. Takes about 10 minutes.
