OUTSIDER-of-five, My Murphy got the better of odds-on favourite Please Talk in the Grade 3 Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle, feature of yesterday’s action in Limerick.
The Liam Burke-trained five-year-old, a creditable third to Dedigout at Navan last time, headed the favourite after Paul Carberry’s mount made a mistake at the second last flight and stayed on stoutly for Shay Barry to score by almost four lengths.

It was the Presenting gelding’s second win over hurdles. And trainer Burke commented: "We’ve always looked at him as a staying chaser and anything he does over hurdles is a bonus.

"He never travelled the last day, in Navan, and travelled much better today. He’s still a big baby, but handles that ground well. He’ll probably have one more run over hurdles and will go chasing nest season."
"My Murphy" is a full brother to Slievemaoil Stud mare "Fruits De Mer"
