🩵 Forever loved 🩵

We have such wonderful news to share with you about our miracle boy Poleng that we believe will fill your hearts as much as it fills ours.

Finally and so so deserving of it, he found his forever home, in Rachel and Was who had already grown to love him from afar and now came to our Safe House to be with him.

We rescued Poleng back in April this year in an unbelievable heartbreaking condition. But thankfully he fought and made it through a miraculous transformation that not only astonished us but also many people around the globe. He became a symbol of incredible strength and resilience.

Who played a very important part in his emotional rehabilitation, was his foster mama and our dear team member Elika who made him shine like a bright start again.

With Elika’s presence and the endless love and patience that Rachel and Was showed Poleng, the transition from foster care to his forever home was as smooth as we could have hoped. All are incredibly happy and that makes us so very happy too. Our hearts couldn’t be more full.

We are forever grateful to Rachel and Was for the amazing people that they are and for choosing to adopt our very special Poleng who brought so much impact to us all.

More updates will come soon from our happy boy as he settles into his new life with his incredible family. And for everyone who is missing him already, you can now follow along his new life journey under his own account 🫶🏻.

The transformation of Piko ❤️‍🩹

While we were out on our feeding tour end of June, Piko caught our attention when we saw him roaming on the road side.

At six years of age he contracted mange and also developed a secondary fungal infection. Piko was constantly scratching himself from the intense itch that his skin became very raw and infected and his hair fell out.

Through his family we learned that he was battling this skin condition for six months, and that they had asked for help and a tablet was given to Piko, but unfortunately without showing any effect.

We helped him and provided deworming and the needed medication that effectively treated his mange and fungus successfully. Medicated shampoo soothed his skin topically and regular additional nutritious food fastened his recovery.

Two months later this handsome boy transformed beautifully and judging by his bright smile he must be feeling very happy about it too. 🫶🏻

We furthermore vaccinated and neutered Piko in one of our previous sterilization events that completed his health package.

We are grateful that with support like yours we were able to bring relief and recovery to him to live in health and comfort.

Please consider to make a kind donation today to help us heal many more dogs that are suffering from similar treatable conditions.

USD 5 helps to deworm one dog.
USD 10 helps to feed one dog for one week.
USD 25 helps to treat mange in up to four dogs.
USD 50 helps to vaccinate + sterilize one dog.

From our hearts to yours, thank you so much. We appreciate you. 🙏🏻

Change through education ‼️

It shouldn’t happen, but sadly it does. Chaining dogs is one of the biggest issues that we face here in Bali.

When we go from house to house, registering animals for our sterilization events, we see them. Dogs spending their lives on a short chain.

While for us this kind of confinement is a cruel punishment, for many local owners here it is a belief to protect their pets; from getting pregnant, lost, hit on the road, stolen to be eaten, poisoned or mistreated in any other way.

Unfortunately, most are not realizing how much their dogs are suffering. Given these poor living conditions, it is no surprise that those dogs oftentimes become sick, depressed, unsocial or even aggressive.

Even if we wished we could just take away all of them, it wouldn’t always help if we did. People simply would get another one instead and repeat the same mistakes.

What we learned in all the years of rescuing animals in Bali is that the most efficient way to help those neglected dogs is to work with the local communities and to educate about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership while also to spay and neuter as many animals as we can to prevent future suffering.

This is once again what we did here.

That we discovered Honey, gave her the chance of a better and healthier future life.

Not only have we explained the tragic physical and mental results of long term chaining, we had also spayed her in one of our previous sterilization events to prevent her from further suffering.

Since then we followed up with unannounced visits and were so pleased to find Honey free and happy and a worthy part of the families lives.

A life on a chain is not a life they deserve. It is an issue that needs to be approached with patience, persistence and compromise. Honey is yet another great example that education is key and that little steps can lead to great success. 🙌🏻

Love and second chances ❤️

Two weeks ago we welcomed with Maria and Noel two very special visitors back to our Safe House.

They came with their hearts still healing and hope for a little peace. But what they found was much greater than this.

They were sent two beautiful souls by the one amazing soul who came before, our all dear Foxy.

Foxy’s memory led Maria and Noel to our rescues Lilax and Mona. One a cancer survivor and the other who has been waiting for over a year for a forever home, just like her.

Those two little hearts now became part of theirs, expanding them beyond measure. Both, Lilax and Mona knew immediately that they were home, together.

More updates will come soon about them all settling into their new lives, but sure is they are well and incredibly happy, which makes us so very happy too.

Thank you so much Maria and Noel for being the incredible people that you are. You are honoring Foxy in the most spectacular way by making something so beautiful to come out of her legacy. She, who taught so well to love again.

We are forever grateful. 🤍

Sterilize, sterilize, sterilize 🙌🏻

We can not repeat enough the importance of spaying and neutering animals to control the population here in Bali.

Therefore we successfully sterilized a total of 17 animals in our event yesterday with vet Ketut and his team.

With this kindest cut of all, the birth and the resulting suffer of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens could be prevented.

Furthermore we provided 1 complete and 14 rabies vaccinations while 2 dogs also received chemotherapy for their life threatening TVT cancer.

We are very thankful to both our vet Ketut and his assistant vet Cendy for their tireless work, our girls for their dedication and YOU, our wonderful supporters, for allowing this event for the animals to happen.

Please continue to be part of our most necessary mission and contribute to a life saving cause for Bali‘s animals through sterilization. It is and always will be the one and only sustainable way to prevent future suffering.

Can you help us and sponsor a sterilization? ❤️‍🩹

This Thursday we will be holding the second spay and neuter event of this month in collaboration with our vet Ketut and his team.

For this most important day we have already pre registered a total of 15 dogs over the last week, many of who are strays. We do expect a minimum of 5 other pets to be brought directly by their owners or caretakers to our sterilization facility which will increase the total amount of animals.

What all of them have in common is the urge to put a stop to further suffering. And this can only be done humanely by spaying and neutering them.

We are now looking for sterilization sponsors for 20 dogs at a total cost of 500 USD. Will you be able to help us help them?

With only a 25 USD one time donation to sterilize one animal in this event, you can help us save thousands of lives in the future.

To donate please click the link in our bio or see our donate highlight button and note ‘sterilization’ on your transfer.

From them all and us, thank you so much. We couldn’t help them without you. 🙏🏻

Miki returned home 🤍

Finally brave Miki was allowed to leave the clinic post surgery and hospitalization care.

The operation was a success and thankfully the big gaping wound could be stitched. The surgical site now has less swelling and is healing exactly the way it’s supposed to.

He was furthermore neutered in the same procedure while already under sedation and we also had him rabies vaccinated.

With the clinic environment understandably being a little overwhelming for this sweet boy and him longing for the comfort of his family he has been with for the last six years, he couldn’t wait to return home.

He requires further oral medications which we explained how to administer. And for now but not for long, only until the stitches can be removed, he has to be kept in a cage to control his movement. At least Miki is now able to continue to recover surrounded by the people who he loves while still being under our careful watch.

Helping Miki was only possible thanks to YOUR support. In his name, his owners and ours we would like to express our gratitude to you for allowing his rescue, treatment and after care.

Thank you so much. ♥️

Helpless dogs saved from brink of death are now looking for their forever homes ❤️‍🩹

Meet Bella and Teddy, the newest arrivals at our Safe House.

It was late in the evening when our team not only received a desperate call for help from a neighbor, but also a knock on the door of our Safe House at the same time.

Two helpless dogs were threatened to be killed. As soon as Herlin and Elika heard those words from a caring neighbor who was brave enough to interfere, they rushed and followed her, unaware of the cruel scenario they were going to face.

Once arrived at the location they were confronted with a man holding a samurai sword, about to cut off the heads of the dogs. He wanted them gone because they killed his rooster, that man claimed without proof.

Both dogs were no strangers to us. They are friendly and healthy strays who were being fed daily through our street feeding program and who we only just recently sterilized and rabies vaccinated.

Thankfully our girls were quick, acted without hesitation and got a hold of them both before the man could carry out a brutal massacre.

Under schock but secure, they all made it back to the Safe House where those sweet little dogs are now awaiting their second chance at life.

Bella and Teddy, how we lovingly call them, are siblings. They are only 7 months young mixed breeds who we expect to stay small in size. Both are totally adorable, friendly, cuddly, playful and joyful, just like pups should be.

We are wishing for them to find a forever family together or if separate, they are best to go into homes with other pets and children to keep them company.

Life surely has not been easy for these two precious souls, but now the tide is turning for them. Will you open your heart and welcome them into your home? Please direct message us or our partner page if you would like to adopt Bella and/or Teddy.

Donations for their care with us until those forever homes are found, are also very gratefully received through the link in our bio. 🙏🏻

In Part 3 of our special series you will find some of our adopted dogs whose miracles YOU made possible.

They had been rescued from horrendous conditions, rehabilitated in our loving care and rehomed into wonderful forever families, all with your support.

On their behalf and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all for helping us to save their lives.

We couldn’t have done any of it without you.

The transformation of Weti ❤️‍🩹

On today’s Transformation Tuesday we would like to introduce you to Weti.

Back in July we discovered him during our pre spay and neuter registration tour. He caught our attention while roaming in the street.

Like many other dogs in Bali he was thin and frail, suffering a very advanced form of mange. His skin was very raw and hurting and his hair fell out nearly completely from the intense itch caused by parasitic mites.

He appeared to be beyond hope. But thankfully we knew that this painful and common disease is easily treated with effective but costly medication.

We helped Weti and provided deworming for internal parasites and Bravecto to heal him from the severe skin condition. With additional food we supported his recovery. He was furthermore rabies vaccinated and neutered through our program.

Two months is what it took us to transform Weti from a picture of pain and suffering into a happy boy. Judging by his bright smile today, he must be so very pleased about his triumphant comeback too. 😍

Your donation helped to change his life. Now that he is healthy and despite being a stray, he is better accepted by the people in the community he is living in.

All over Bali there are hairless dogs just like Weti and we need any support possible to help as many dogs in the street as possible.

Please consider donating today to help us free more dogs from pain. With just USD 25 for one tablet of Bravecto we can treat 3 - 4 dogs and turn their lives around completely.

If you would like to help us help more dogs like Weti, please consider donating through the link in our bio or sign up on our medication tier on Patreon for monthly support. 🙏🏻

More sterilizations done thanks to your support ❤️‍🩹

We are pleased to inform that yesterday we successfully spayed and neutered a total of 32 animals.

That includes all pre registered dogs and cats who we introduced to you in our previous post plus a lot of additional pets who were brought to our sterilization facility directly by their owners.

11 female dogs, 5 male dogs, 12 female cats and 5 male cats are now having a safer and healthier future. We furthermore have given 3 complete and 28 rabies vaccinations and we provided chemotherapy for TVT cancer for 2 dogs.

Every single sterilization surgery remains to be the most compassionate method of controlling the population but also to improve animal welfare here in Bali.

We are so very grateful to ALL OF YOU who support our spay and neuter program. Please continue to be part of the mission and contribute to this life saving cause for the dogs and cats here on the island.

If you can help, click on the link in our bio or sign up on our sterilization tier on Patreon for monthly sponsorship. 🙏🏻

Can you help us and sponsor a sterilization or two? 🙏🏻

Tomorrow on Thursday we will be holding another important spay and neuter day with vet Ketut and his assistant vet Cendy.

A total of 16 animals were pre-registered by our team over the past couple of days, who will participate in this event.

All those dogs and cats, many of who are owned by low income local families and others who are strays, are in urgent need to be sterilized to:

a) prevent further unwanted births and overpopulation.
b) protect them from suffering and diseases such as TVT cancer.
c) help improve their well-being and living conditions.

Each sterilization surgery will hereby cost us 25 USD. We are now in urgent need of sponsors to cover all 16 dogs and cats which will amount to a total of 400 USD.

Will you be able to help us help them?

To donate please click the link in our bio or see our donate highlight button and note ‘sterilization’ on your transfer.

From them all and us, thank you so much for your support. 🤍
