🏭SALIX TRAINING CENTER – SEARCH & RESCUE TRAINING GROUNDS
When we first walked through the gates of the old factory, we didn't see abandoned buildings, broken concrete and overgrown areas.
We saw potential.
Potential to create something that is missing in the region. A place where Search & Rescue teams can train in realistic, challenging and constantly evolving conditions.
Over the past months we have spent countless hours clearing vegetation, removing waste, maintaining the grounds, identifying safe training areas and building hiding places. Every visit reveals new opportunities and new ideas.
Today, the Salix Training Center offers:
✔ Fully fenced training grounds
✔ Indoor and outdoor training opportunities
✔ Dark search areas
✔ Underground hiding places
✔ Elevated hiding places
✔ Large industrial structures
✔ Complex scent conditions
✔ Countless possibilities for scenario building
✔ Privacy and uninterrupted training
And we are only getting started.
One of our long-term goals is to create a location where SAR teams, instructors and organizations from Hungary and abroad can meet, train, exchange knowledge and organize seminars in a unique environment.
This video was filmed during one of our first SAR training days together with the fantastic team of REPS Maribor (Slovenia). Their dogs and handlers helped us explore the possibilities of the site, test hiding places and challenge the environment in ways only experienced SAR teams can.
The old factory is slowly coming back to life.
Not as a factory.
But as a place dedicated to dogs, training, teamwork and learning.
