🚫 迷思二：「我家狗狗天天啃潔牙骨，牙齒超乾淨！」
💡 真相：潔牙骨能幫助減少牙菌斑，但無法完全取代專業洗牙。牙齦線下的牙結石需要專業器械才能清除

【 毛孩醫學百科 | Dr. Ross 個案分享：胸腔穿刺術拯救生命 】

胸腔穿刺術是一項緊急救命手術，用於從胸腔中排出積液。貓咪特別容易因心臟病、感染或腫瘤等問題導致胸腔積液。這些積液會壓迫肺部，讓呼吸變得困難。

在輕度鎮靜和局部麻醉下，我們會通過超聲引導將針頭插入胸腔，排出部分積液。雖然不會完全排乾，但目標是緩解貓咪的呼吸困難，為診斷和治療爭取時間。

最近，Dr. Ross 治療了一隻員工的貓咪Wong Juk Hang，她因貓傳染性腹膜炎 (FIP) 導致胸腔積液。初次胸腔穿刺僅排出少量積液，因此放置了胸腔引流管，持續排液7天，讓藥物發揮作用。

令人欣慰的是，Wong Juk Hang完全康復！現在，6個月過去了，她依然健康快樂！

Case Study by Dr. Ross: Thoracocentesis Saves Lives

Thoracocentesis is a critical emergency procedure used to drain fluid from the chest.

Cats are particularly prone to chest fluid buildup due to conditions such as heart disease, infections, or neoplasia. This fluid compresses the lungs, making breathing difficult.

Using mild sedation and local anesthetic, a needle is carefully inserted into the chest (guided by ultrasound) to relieve the pressure. While not all fluid is removed, the aim is to make breathing easier and buy time to diagnose and treat the cause.

Recently, Dr. Ross treated a staff member’s cat, Wong Juk Hang, who had chest fluid caused by Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Initial thoracocentesis only drained a small amount of fluid, so a chest drain was placed for 7 days to allow consistent drainage. This gave the medicine time to work.

We’re thrilled to share that Wong Juk Hang made a full recovery and is thriving 6 months later!
