Is This the Reason Why Adult Dogs Have Behavior Problems?
If you are looking to adopt or buy a puppy there are many things to consider, and one very important issue is the age of the puppy. Puppies should ideally be with their mom and littermates until about 8-10 weeks old. This is not just for the safety and health of the puppies, but it is also to help the puppies become balanced, well-behaved pets. Puppies learn socialization skills and good manners through their interaction with their mom and littermates. If taken away too early, puppies could develop poor socialization skills and have behavioral problems such as being overly anxious/nervous, nipping and biting at other dogs as well as people, etc. If the puppies are removed to early you will be setting them up for behavior and various other issues. As a certified dog trainer, I have dealt with numerous owners in Guam who have encountered behavioral issues that were likely a direct result of the puppies taken from their litter mates too early. Please do your research, and ask a REPUTABLE veterinarian.
