A little update on stray cat, Harry 🐾

After deteriorating last week, Harry thankfully picked up slightly over the weekend. He is still not out of the woods yet, but we are relieved to say he has now been transferred to a sanctuary where he is settling in well and taking his medications.

Harry has been incredibly lucky. An amazing private, independent sanctuary kindly agreed to take him on and have also funded his ongoing care and treatment at a local veterinary hospital over the weekend.

The sanctuary has been run by Barbara and Bob since 1996, dedicating their lives to helping cats who deserved to be cared for but who, for various medical reasons, would have been unlikely to find new homes. Their compassion and commitment over the years has given so many cats comfort, safety and love when they needed it most.

Sadly, Harry will be the very last cat they are able to take in, and they are no longer accepting any new cats.

If anyone would like to support Harry’s ongoing treatment and the incredible work Barbara and Bob have done over the years, donations would be hugely appreciated ❤️

Please visit their website, where under the tab funding you can donate: https://fivcats.com/index.html

Thank you again to everyone who has shown Harry kindness and concern. Here is Harry just after devouring his supper at the sanctuary ❤️

Update on found cat

Thank you to everyone who has shared and helped so far. Unfortunately, we have still not been able to locate an owner for this cat. So we would really appreciate if you could keep sharing this post.

We wanted to provide a small update to say that the cat’s condition has declined, and we are continuing to monitor and care for them closely.

If you believe this may be your cat, or have any information that could help us identify an owner, please contact the practice as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your support.

⚠️ Important Warning for Dog Owners - Thornbury ⚠️

We have been contacted by a member of the public who reported witnessing someone distributing toxic substances, including raisins and presumed rat bait, along the Streamside footpath from Gloucester Rd towards The Castle School. This has been reported.

Both of these substances are extremely dangerous to dogs and can be fatal even in small amounts.

🐾 Please take extra care when walking your dogs in this area:

Keep dogs on leads where possible

Do not allow dogs to eat anything found on the ground

Be especially cautious near water and stream edges

🚨 If you think your dog may have ingested raisins, rat bait, or any unknown substance, this is an emergency. Please contact us immediately or seek urgent veterinary care.

If you see anything suspicious, please report it to the local authorities.

Please share this post to help keep our local dogs safe. 💚
