We have been made aware of an incident at Lancing Manor Park over the weekend, where a dog had to be taken to see a vet after swallowing a substance on the ground.

It has been suggested that the dog may have eaten some white pellets. We’re unsure why anything like that would have been at the green space, as no such chemical substance is used by our parks team. We’ve been unable to find any such pellets at the park.

If you visit Lancing Manor Park or any of our other green spaces and spot an unusual substance on the ground, please contact us on 01273 263000, so our parks team can be made aware and remove it as soon as possible.

Please do not touch any potential chemical substances with your bare hands. If you would like to remove such pellets yourself before anyone or anything can come into contact with it, please do so while wearing protective gloves.

Sussex Police has been made aware of the issue.
