Figgy and I are in cahoots...

She wanted to have our next level British Bridle leather.... but totally undyed.

So we are carrying out a little experiment - all of our leather is incredibly high quality so will develop its own unique rich 'patina' through use - but this undyed British Bridle leather should change more dramatically; gradually darkening from a peach tone to tan and changing from a matt finish to lightly polished.

I'm so curious to see if it will all change at the same rate, or if it will be quicker where it is more handled. And the shade it will be after 1 months, 6 months, 5 years etc.

If you Google 'undyed leather patina images' you will see what I mean!

I'll make Mallory a Set too so we can join in the fun.

I could release this as a Limited Edition colour... If you would like it vote in my stories (and perv at Fig doing frog legs 💓)

I should also say that we will always try to accommodate bespoke requests like these! So do let me know if you would like something you can't see on our website. Everything we make is handmade to order to suit your exact needs.

Won't look Wednesday... oh hang on!
So glad we get to glimpse this lovely furry face - one of the newest members of our tribe.

Cavendish Red is definitely one of those things I have been wrong about in my life - I wasn't sure if it would work as a C&G heritage colour but oh boy how wrong I was. Every hound looks so striking and regal in it, I just bloody love it.

So here's to going out of your comfort zone and trying something a little daring - safe to say it usually pays off!

Margo is exhausted of looking for a Collar that fits perfectly.... Luckily we have a new MEDIUM Size C&G on it's way to her!

We were getting quite a few hounds who fell between our sizes and because we are all about optimum performance and comfort we had to address this!

So now we offer 3 size hound Collars:

S - Best for Standard size whippets (26cm - 31cm)
M - Best for Lurchers / larger Whippets (30 - 34cm)
L - Best for Greyhounds (32cm - 38cm)

More exciting innovations comingover the next few weeks... (Can you tell the kids have gone back to school??)

I don't know who needs to see this today - but this loooong neck makes me almost viscerally happy! I love inhaling and kissing the super soft bit of fur between a hound's ears so it's probably best that the beautiful is over in Germany where I can't get to her!!

I haven't publicly thanked C&G Club members for the incredible photos that you sent for our new marketing material. I have just been going through my inbox saving them all and it just reminds me how incredibly lucky I am to have such great customers and to serve such gorgeous hounds - so thank you!

Summer is over - the ratbags are back in childcare and it's back to me creating Collars in my little workshop that reeks of leather, punctuated with long windy walks with my little skippy whippy. HAPPY PLACE.

Our Leather - the BEST of British Bridle

Abbey England supplies Cub & Grey with all of the Sedgwick 1900 leather hides for our core heritage collection and also many of the tools that we use to hand craft the leather into the finished Collar or Lead that you receive.

Their Walsall foundry dates back to 1832. Abbey England have been issued with a prestigious Royal warrant because they supply goods or services to the British royal court or certain royal British personages, which highlights just how respected Abbey England are in the saddlery world.

When Cub & Grey was just a seedling of an idea, I visited Abbey England and after speaking to their highly qualified staff, our theoretical prototype for the perfect Sighthound Collar became the reality that it is today.
