The devastating impact this will have on one of the most beautiful parts of the Suffolk countryside and all the wildlife it supports just does not bear thinking about 😣 Suffolk is now being plagued with solar farms!

Remember NIMBY can also stand for ‘Next It Might Be You’

The Stop Deben Solar campaign is opposing a proposed Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the villages of Easton and Letheringham, Suffolk. This development would industrialise our beautiful, historic landscape and could encourage further industrialisation.

East Suffolk Council has recognised the strength of feeling across our communities, businesses, and visitors, as we have united to defend this special area: the Deben Valley’s villages and landscapes. We now need you to make your views known again in response to the developer’s revised submission, uploaded to the planning portal for public comment on 26 March 2026.

Following a number of requests, East Suffolk Council has extended the deadline for public submissions to 22 May 2026. SDS, our consultants, our MP, and councillors are asking for a longer period, but this is not guaranteed—so please don’t delay.

If you objected to the initial submission, you can submit a further objection. However, simply resending your previous comments may not be accepted as a new objection, and total numbers matter. We suggest reaffirming your original concerns and focusing on new points, or on any matters that still appear inadequately addressed.

We need everyone in every household to object to defend our countryside like never before—this could be our last opportunity. Please make your objection a priority.

Dylan demonstrating the perfect way to use The Scent Zone at The Deben Dog Hub 😁 tasty dried treats provided (please remember to put the lid back on) just place one treat an several hides and let your dog sniff away, scentwork is a great way to use your dogs mental energy and this can tire them out just as much as a long walk 👍😊
