Lindsay's Animal School

Lindsay's Animal School Lindsay and her team provide theraputic animal education and handling workshops. As seen on YouTube. Liscence no.201900394 Times and prices of events vary.

During term time, Animal School specialises in working with SENse learning and the NHS to give experiences to children that are out of school due to SEN and anxiety. We run a weekly animal club on site for children ages 8 - 16. Children can handle a range of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Cost is £15 per child payable before the session. We can offer some private experiences for

therapy or birthdays but spaces are limited. We are currently fully booked until December 2022. We also run animal and storytelling events throughout the year which are advertised on Facebook. Lindsay produces videos on YouTube which were featured on the BBC News. The channel features Lindsay and her volunteers running the Animal School Centre for therapy and education. Lindsay has at least 120 animals. These are mostly rescued pets and many of them are handled for therapy. Lindsay spent 15 years managing a pet shop, providing animal lectures at events, birthday parties, care home visits and animal therapy for the NHS. Post covid, Lindsay settled her mobile zoo classes in a yurt in the heart of the South Downs and based next to her farm and animal rescue centre. Animal School boasts some of the widest range of species that can be affordably handled by the public. With mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, insects, spiders and a mollusc to be met with and enjoyed at the after school club. Please get in touch or Visit our website www.animalschool.co.uk

“You haven’t done any of your club days in a while.” Quite a few of you have been saying this understandably, but no we haven’t just been being lazy (unlike this cat). It’s because we have been working hard to try and set up as an alternative provisions centre. This is taking up a lot of our time and we still are not there yet but rest assured we will have more club days coming up, especially over the summer holidays. So watch this space (the cat doesn’t move for hours) 🐈 💤

Rescued this little buddy today. This beetle is known as the May bug or Cockchafer. He was swimming in a puddle so lifted him out and let him dry in the sun on my arm before putting back in the garden. ❤️ 🪲

Yesterday was my four year yurtaversary. They said it would take two people two hours to make..: somehow it took seven people seven hours! (Not including the base making time) Pictured here is the team that helped put it all together. Scroll to see it through its various stages of being built. In four years so much good work has happened in this space, taming and training animals, helping children gain confidence and a love of animals, meditation groups, musical events and art classes.

Interesting morning with the team waiting to receive a poo sample from all three of my sheep. The sample is sent first class to a lab that checks for worms and other parasites. Sounds simple? What we didn’t realise is sheep don’t poo as often as you think and we were up the field with them for over an hour waiting for nature to call. Quite a peaceful if unusual start to the day. 🐑 🐑 🐑

Lots of squeaking as our baby Guineapigs experience the lawn. Strawberry is playing mum here to my new mini herd.
