🆘 VERY URGENT FOSTER APPEAL - PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE 🆘

Update: A HUGE thank you for the phenomenal response to our foster appeal. You are all absolutely amazing humans! We now have an immediate short term solution for Talia, and a few longer term solutions to explore too once she is safe and settled. We can’t thank you enough for such incredible support. We’ll keep you updated on our pages about how she is doing if you would like to continue to follow Talia’s journey 🥰

We’ve got some sad news this evening. Unfortunately, we’re on a desperate hunt for a new foster home for poor Talia.

One of the resident dogs in the foster home we had lined up sadly took a dislike to her, and we didn’t feel it was fair to put her through the stress of needing to be kept separate from the other dogs after all the traumas she has already been through.

So she’s back at the wardens kennels with her life on the line again 😢

We don’t yet have the luxury of our own kennels (which would make situations like this so much more manageable) but that doesn’t mean we’ll ever refuse to help a dog in desperate need just because it’s challenging.

So here we are again. And we’re looking for the absolute holy grail of foster homes - a pet free household!

Talia is not aggressive with other dogs but we feel she needs somewhere as peaceful as possible, so we can get her better and help her recover. She adores people and she’s incredibly loving, so a foster home with children over 10 years old is absolutely fine (over 10 years old due to her size).

Ideally her foster home would be in Oxfordshire as some appointments with our vet will be needed to treat her poorly skin and eyes but we’ll happily consider a foster home further afield given the urgency of Talia’s situation.

We know she doesn’t look very pretty right now. She has been abused and relentlessly bred from. It’s not surprising. But if you can look past that, all Talia needs is some love and a comfy sofa to curl up on.

We’re determined to save her life and find her happy ever after but we’re painfully aware that the odds are stacked against us.

❤️ Please, please, please share this appeal as far and wide as you can, and help us to find a kind-hearted dog lover who can offer her some temporary sanctuary.

We’ll provide full support to Talia’s fosterer and all food/equipment will also be provided. Her medical expenses will of course also be covered by One Wish.

If you can help us (and Talia) please contact Jenna at [email protected] or on 07850 465077.

We’ve made miracles happen before, and we can do it again 💕🐾

We’re thrilled to be officially welcoming Talia into the One Wish Family today. She arrives in foster care from the pound this evening 🥰

Seized by the police for welfare reasons, this poor soul is in a very sorry state indeed. Her skin is excruciatingly sore from mange and she also has poorly eyes.

She was severely neglected and mistreated but with love, care and medical attention from our vet, we know we can turn things around for her.

Thanks to all your shares and spreading the word, we found a wonderful foster home for Talia in record time, so we can start to turn her life around today.

She’ll be seeing our vet next week to get a plan in place for her treatment but for the next few days, she’ll be settling in and having the first safe sleeps of her life.

Thank you to Candice Collyer for helping us with Talia’s rescue and for your fundraiser towards her vet bills 😘

We can’t wait to meet you in just a few short hours Talia. Your best days start today 💕🐾

Whilst Bonnie is now safe and sound in her forever foster home, we continue to do our best to save as many more dogs as we possibly can.

With an estimated 67,000 dogs currently homeless in the UK, we’ve certainly got our hands full 😢

Most of the dogs which we take in at One Wish are strays. And it costs over £500 each time to chip, vaccinate and spay/neuter them. Many also arrive with health problems from their past traumas which we need to treat.

Rescuing is expensive. But it’s necessary. We refuse to give up on any dog who needs our help.

⭐️ Can you help us to save lives?

However small the donation, it really does go such a long way.

💕 DONATE HERE: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/onewishdogs

We’d also be delighted to work with anyone who has the time to run a local fundraiser. Please get in touch if you can help that way.

As always, thank you for choosing to support our small (but mighty!) charity 🐾

Good morning Spud fans, it’s your very favourite One Wish boy here 👋🏻

Happy Saturday! I’ve noticed the humans are always exceptionally chirpy on this day of the week… when you live a life of luxury like me though, every day feels like Saturday!

So since we last spoke, I’ve been hard at work as always. And I think it has paid off, because there’s a “reserved” sign next to my name of the web site 😎 Have you seen it?! It’s not 100% official yet, but I think I may well have found my forever home. Can you believe it?! I mean I can believe it, who wouldn’t want to share their home with a doggie legend like me?

There’s a lot happening at the charity at the moment. Since I last did a pup-date, my fellow Sighthound friend Shunka was adopted, Bella has a visit lined up with a potential forever family and little old Bonnie arrived in long term foster care. It has been busy!

Talia the American Bulldog (a welfare case) is arriving from the pound tomorrow and a stray Chihuahua is also arriving next week. Like me, they’re really lucky to have been given a second chance and I’ll let you know how they’re settling in.

Whilst all that has been going on, I’ve been luxuriating on my sun lounger, getting loads of strokes and raiding the fridge when the opportunity arises. A day in the life of the Spudster!

Have a pawsome weekend peeps!

Lots of love, your Spud 💕🐾 xx

Beautiful Bonnie is here 🥰

16 year old Bonnie sadly found herself in a predicament when her owner was taken into care. They had been together for 15 years 😢

We knew when we heard about Bonnie’s plight that we already had the perfect long term foster home for her - the legendary Karen’s Care Home!

Jenna and Karen have worked together many times in the past. This amazing woman specialises in offering sanctuary to elderly and/or disabled little ones, and she has helped so many doggies in need over the past few years since she found her calling.

One Wish will be supporting Bonnie’s care for the rest of her life. She deserves to feel safe, loved and cherished for however long she has left with us. We’ll make sure she has everything she needs.

She is currently settling in and being slowly introduced to the rest of Karen’s beautiful pack of rescues. She has already been brave enough to have a cuddle with Karen and she even had a little potter around the block.

We’re so pleased that you found your way to us Bonnie. You’re in the very best hands with Karen and the gang!

Karen, we’ve told you this so many times before but we can’t say it enough. You’re a very special lady and our oldies are so incredibly lucky to have you. We’re in awe of you!
