Hughie sleeps in my room on his very own bed 😂 yes an actual bed (it used to be Ellen's toddler bed 😂)
Why?
Well honestly, it happened at first because I was sad. I lost two of my amazing dogs close together and I was floored.
Training with me, does not mean you have to miss out on the cute cuddles
Having a solo dog, I found it very strange leaving him alone downstairs so I invited him up one night.
Why doesn't he sleep in my bed? Well because I'm old 😂 , I need sleep, I'm easily disturbed, and I like a crisp clean bed but he is allowed on when invited for cuddles 😊 so this is our best balance.
Does it affect his training?
No, not at all! If anything our bond is only better.
I think the key with all of our dog training, is having clear boundaries. Hughie knows and understands what is expected of him, he's learning and we need to put a lot more time into our training.
Day to day Hughie is my perfect sidekick, I adore this little man.

Remember, you can have boundaries and expectations alongside kindness!
Boundaries are something that are taught and understood, not something that needs to be feared.
Don't scare your dog, teach them
Build your bond, have fun with them, love them
