Meet Munchkin, a very playful and affectionate young cat, who is desperate to find a new family to call his own. He came into us when his owner’s circumstances changed and sadly could no longer keep him. Munchkin is a male of approximately nine months old, all black, and fluffy with a very bushy tail. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. Our foster home has told us that he is a very laid-back cat. He has been used to children and dogs but we don’t know what he is like with other cats, although he does not seem bothered when he sees any at a distance. Apologies for the photos but he just would not stay still long enough – we are trying to get some better ones or a video. If you think Munchkin is just the cat for you or you would like to know more about him then please give us a call on 0116 288 2014 and have a chat. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. Many thanks and we would appreciate it if you could share as much as possible to help get this loving and energetic youngster a home.

We are still looking for a loving home for Polly, mum of the "carwash kittens" (see her original post dated 25 February). Polly is a tortoiseshell, approximately 12-18 months. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and is fully up to date for worms and flea treatment. She is very affectionate and playful and, with the correct introductions, should be okay to go with children. If you think you could offer Polly a loving home or would just like to find out more about her, please give us a ring on 0116 288 2014. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. Please share as much as possible to help find Polly her new family. Many thanks. 😺

UPDATE ON MILLY
I'm so sorry to say that Milly had to be put to sleep. She was trying to eat but unable to and it was becoming obvious that something was very wrong rather than having been shut in somewhere for three weeks without food or water. She was given a very small dose of sedation so that her mouth could be examined properly and it was found that she had a tumour and it had actually split the tongue. Two vets examined her and there was nothing that could be done so it was decided that the kindest thing was to let her go while under sedation. RIP little Milly 😿😿

We are urgently trying to trace the owner of this poor little cat that came into our care today. She has a microchip but we are currently unable to contact the registered owner by telephone so will write to them tomorrow. Her name is Milly, approximately 17 years old, and she was actually reported missing by her owners in 2009 from the Stoneygate/Clarendon Park area but has been cared for by members of the public for the past few years in the Wigston Fields area. After going missing about three weeks ago, she came back over the weekend and was in a dreadful condition so possibly had been shut in somewhere. She is currently at the vets and is very ill, hence the urgency of finding her owners. Please call us on 0116 288 2014 if she belongs to you or if you think you may know who her owners are. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. We would appreciate it if you could please share is much as possible. Many thanks. 😿

A very big thank you to Hazlehurst Cattery for, once again, organising a Christmas collection for us. The cat food, litter, cat treats and toys collected have already been distributed round our foster homes. Once again, thank you so much Hilary and everyone who contributed, we really do appreciate it. 😺

Meet Polly, mum of the "carwash kittens" (see below). She had been hanging round a carwash for several months, being fed by the kind workers, but decided to surprise them one Monday morning by presenting them with six kittens! Polly is a tortoiseshell, approximately 12-18 months. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and is now ready to find her new family. She has a very affectionate and playful nature and, with the correct introductions, should be okay to go with children. We don't know what she is like with dogs but she doesn't seem too bothered when seeing other cats. If you think you could offer Polly a loving home or would just like to find out more about her, please give us a ring on 0116 288 2014. Many thanks. 😺

Meet Mistletoe, Claude, Holly, Kris, Rudolph and Ivy, aka the carwash kittens. They came into care with their mum (Poppy) a couple of weeks before Christmas, hence their names! Mum had been hanging around a carwash for several months and the workers had been kindly feeding her, however, she gave them quite a surprise one Monday morning when she turned up with six kittens. They have been at one of our foster homes since then and are now ready to go to new loving homes. Mistletoe, Claude and Holly have already found their new families but we are still looking for homes for Kris, Rudolph and Ivy. Kris and Rudolph are both boys and Ivy is a girl. They are all mostly black (as you can see from the video), and are now approximately 13-14 weeks. They have been microchipped, vaccinated and are up to date with flea and worm treatment. They are typical kittens, playful and affectionate. Please give us a call on 0116 288 2014 if you think you could offer a loving home to one or more of them, or you just want to find out more about them. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. Many thanks. 😺

A very big thank you to Nicky Litchfield, a very well known and respected artist, who very kindly offered to produce a Christmas card for us (see our post below dated 23 November), with all money raised from the sale of the cards being donated to us. We are delighted to say that £360 was raised, which will be a tremendous help to us. Many thanks as well to everyone that purchased the cards. 😺😺

A very big thank you to Oadby Vets For Pets for inviting us to take part in their Open Day on 18 January 2025. We had a great time chatting to members of the public and explaining what we do, and met up with people we have helped in the past. As well as selling quite a few items we had brought along and receiving donations from members of the public, we were delighted to receive £210 from Oadby Vets For Pets raised from their raffle. Once again, thank you so much and we, both two-legged and four-legged, really appreciate their support. 😺😺
