Well what a fabulous weekend at the just for friends international gundog competition.
A big well done to Roger Wooldridge for all the organisation getting the sponsors and prizes not an easy task.
Big thanks to sue and Bernie for their ground and hospitality.
I was lucky enough to be asked to captain the England team and ran the team from the game fair from 2025 with a couple of alterations as Allan Rickerby and Adam brown couldn’t make it so in came Ian Clark and Chris Durkin as reserve
And what a team it turned out to be just pipping Ireland to the post
Day one England was behind by 6points
Day 2 and things got better for us Andy Parker pulling a 102 then myself getting a 114 Barry Faley getting 112 then the tension Ian Clark had to get a good score to take us over the line he walked into the arena like a gladiator he was on it boom a score of 113
We did it 🏆🏆🏆
My self and Barry Faley finish on top team score both on 217 so I had the whistle and Barry had the the sporting saint training vest and medical kit.
Then to top the day off Tina goes and gets top dog with two runs of 112 =224 points with Georgie for the uk ladies team very proud of her
Well done Tina
A very enjoyable 2days with a great atmosphere and banter
Thanks again to Roger and all the helpers judges did a fabulous job and kept us all at ease
