I've been busy being ill, but finally have got round to making an update!

You may remember the fish from the tiny tanks and the two rescued from a saucepan - they made it to a pond!

With the weather warm enough, they've now joined a lovely pond and are where they should be.

Single tailed goldfish (such as the ones you get from the fair) need a pond, not a tank. They get such bad treatment, and it's just not fair.

Little Miss Parker came to join my ranks the other day.
She's an absolute sweetie, but has SBD and spends all her time on the bottom. Her previous owner was amazing, but unfortunately didn't have a large enough tank for playmates with Parker.
As I have a mild addiction to keeping fish, I did! After various checks, she was on her way.
We met halfway, but she travelled for several hours and suddenly appeared in her new home. She did have to put up with my singing on the second leg of the journey, so the poor thing probably arrived worse for wear🙈

Over the past few days she's really started coming out of her shell, chasing the other fish and so very nearly swimming again. She's more off the bottom and actually had a few moments of full free swimming yesterday - I did nearly cry😅

These videos look like I took them on a potato for some wild reason so apologies in advance!

An emotional update...
Some of you may remember Legolass, rescued from an 18L tank with seven other commons. He had no tail and was burned beyond what I thought was possible to come back.
We lost Henry, and I was sure Leg was going next, but he's defied all odds.

Glancing at the tank, I now struggle to pick him apart. He's fully recovered (though still slightly smaller than the rest!) and turning into a lovely little fish.

So i said goodbye to this little guy the other week.
He's off to his permanent home now he's better - just look at the difference from the last post!
I'm super grateful I managed to be a part of his recovery and that he's now going to be safe and happy for the rest of his life😊

Managed to catch the little one!
They're currently in quarantine (aren't we all😂) and will be moved to my tank - I can't help myself with the calico (Callie) ! - and the big guy (Chino) will be finding a pond come summer time.

The photo doesn't do this guy justice.Picked up as a rescue yesterday along with his tiny fancy friend!

Got this little beauty the other week!
Nursing him back to health and then he'll be off to his forever home!
Thanks to the team at FRW for sorting this, and glad to be part of the process.

Legolas has his tail back!!
Super growth spurt the past few weeks, and his tail is nearly completely back to normal! Now means he can zoom around the tank and show his distaste at me being too slow to feed him😂

A few updated photos!
These guys do not stay still for a moment! Especially now they've realised that human=food😂

They also had their first taste of cucumber! It took them a while to realise it was edible, but as soon as they did, it was gone! That's definitely going to be a recurring favourite in their tank.

Legolas has started to regrow his tail too, which is a really good thing - I didn't think he'd pull through after the state he was in. All his burns are healed and his stomach is no longer sunken.

Roll on summer when they can go in the pond!!

Babies and brine shrimp!
These guys and gals will be looking for new homes in the future, but for the moment, they're pretty happy with all their snacks!

So we had some bad news.
Turnip (orange) and Pumpkin (white) made it home, but the tank was worse than I expected.
They were both extremely constipated and Turnip was very floaty. They both were massively bloated and looked like they had prolapses.
When Turnip passed, I panicked a bit, immediately checked everything again, but there was nothing wrong. No spike, no metals, nothing.

My tank was set up and ready for them, everything perfect, but unfortunately they both passed within 24 hours of me taking them in.

The last two photos are from the bottom of their old tank. I simply swirled the gravel. The filter also wasn't pumping how it should and their feed smelled like cat p**s. I don't know what was in their tub of food, but it almost made me threw up when I opened it.

I've been putting this post off because I've felt so guilty that it was my fault, but there really wasn't anything I could have done differently.

Two of my rescues coming to me soon.

Unfortunately the owner couldn't care for them any longer due to age and declining health. Luckily, she reached out and despite a bit of a journey, I'll be able to take them on.
They're about six years old but don't have names- suggestions welcome!
