Fidget Midget An unwanted little staffy cross, found in a council pound when she was about 8 months old. A true en Mum found me in my kennel with my nose on the wall.

Set up in 2013, this little poundie tries her best to break the stigma of a rescue dog- people believe that you need to have a puppy to begin training- but this is simply not true. Fidget was about 8 months old when we found her in the pound. " I was picked up as a stray, and fell into the 7 day catagory- if I wasn't claimed/ rehomed, I was in danger of being PTS- also, being black AND a staffie c

ross, I wasn't the most popular resident amongst potential owners. I looked really sad and was unhappy and lonely. Mum went to pick up her other dog- Diefenbaker, (deef-un-baker) and the rest as they say is history! PLEASE consider a rescue for your next best friend- it takes time and patience, but you get payment back tenfold! EVERY dog can shine- they just need to be given the chance! Even if you have a family, lots of rescues work hard to check us dogs in lots of circumstances- cats, other dogs, children etc etc. PLEASE don't discard us just because our previous owner has- we all can move on with your help! Don't forget the golden oldies too!"

As your dog gets older, it can be hard work! Im 14.5 now (we think: im a rescue) and i have daily pain meds (puppy tablets!) For my arthritis, daily excercises to help my muscles, bi monthly hydrotherapy and monthly physiotherapy and laser therapy: yep, mum is my taxi!! Mum thinks i have a little dementia now too, so we are now working on brain games to help me :)
I still throw my dish at mum for a cup of tea, and i do know when its dinner time: precisely 30 mins after my puppy tablet!! :)

We were camping at the weekend!! Dad competes in archery, so we were his cheering squad! I had my pyjamas for nightime, (kept mum and dad awake the first night as I wouldnt get off the bed, then managed to fall off it!) Saturday was fab, and got some sunbathing in! Puppies! Adorable cuddly bundles who explore EVERYTHING woth their mouth! Size is an important thing to consider: Midge is 13 years old, she is a staffu x lab and approx 18kg, so she isnt a small dog! Fletch was about 6-7 months here, and about 25-30kg! Yes he was large for his breed, but we knew what we were in for! Do plenty of research if there is a specific breed you are interested in, for example hounds were bred to bark when they found a scent/ prey....they LOVE the sound of their own voice! (Terriers too!) Huskies and malamutes are bred to pull: they are strong and need LOTS of excercise....the list goes on! Dogs truly are amazing, but they are hard work: they dont come 'pre trained' that work is for us to do!

As you know: i love a littke tea! Mum moved my dish to a place she thought i ciuldnt get it: when tea is life, you overcome mountains! Bol! (I only have a little!)

We have a toy amnesty donation box at training: money raised goes to Rotherham Dog Rescue to help with their efforts: also, I do crafting, and 10% of sales are donated too: this year the collection box raised £12 and crafting raised £5, so £17 has been sent to help with vets and kennel fees!
