Yesterday’s walk with Arthur, Piper, and Rocky was an absolute treat 🐾 We headed down along the sea wall and onto the beach, where the dogs had the best time exploring, sniffing, and stretching their legs in the fresh sea air. There’s nothing quite like happy pups running along the shoreline.
They were all such good company, and it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves so much. Definitely one of those walks that reminds you why this job is the best 💙

Good evening all I have some really exciting news to share!

I’m so excited to share that I am now fully qualified in Level 2 Dog Grooming🎓✂️🐾 I’ll be at Barks & Bangs in Colchester from the 4th of March, working self-employed, and I can’t wait to welcome both new and familiar furry faces. ❄️🐾 Winter Warning: Grit & Salt Can Damage Dogs’ Paws 🐾❄️

With icy pavements comes salt and grit and while it keeps people safe, it can be painful (and harmful) for dogs.

⚠️ What’s the risk?
• Dry, cracked or sore paw pads
• Small cuts from grit getting embedded
• Chemical burns from de-icing salt
• Licking paws → salt ingestion → stomach upset

Signs to watch for:
• Limping or reluctance to walk
• Excessive licking or chewing paws
• Redness, cracking or soreness

Simple ways to protect dogs:
• Rinse paws with warm water after walks
• Dry thoroughly (especially between toes)
• Use paw balm as a barrier
• Consider dog boots on heavily gritted routes
