Right, it's time for a little moan... 😩

If you request pet food support and we arrange for one of our volunteers to deliver it, please have the courtesy to either be at home or let us know if you're no longer available.

Tonight, one of our amazing volunteers drove out after finishing a full day at work to deliver food to a client, only to find nobody home and no answer to calls or messages. Thankfully this doesn't happen often, but when it does it's incredibly frustrating. It wastes volunteers' time, fuel, and goodwill – all of which are given freely to help people and their pets.

We completely understand that things crop up unexpectedly. Life happens. All we ask is that if you know you won't be in, please send us a quick message so we can rearrange.

While I'm having a rant, can I also remind everyone that we are NOT an emergency service. Please do not call or text at 2am, 3am, or throughout the night. We are volunteers with jobs, families, and pets of our own, and we do need some sleep occasionally! 😴

We love helping people and their animals, and we're proud to do what we do. All we ask in return is a little consideration and respect for myself and the volunteers who make it possible.

🌟🐾 MASSIVE THANK YOU, SHARON! 🐾🌟

A huge, huge thank you to the amazing Sharon Higginson for her incredible donation to our pet food bank. ❤️

Sharon has a beautiful fur baby who is quite the little diva and a very fussy eater! 😹 Her cat doesn't like fish-flavoured food, so rather than letting the unwanted sachets go to waste, Sharon has been carefully saving them for us.

Today, Neil popped over and collected an incredible 13 boxesof sachets!!!!, along with some additional food that Sharon was unable to use. 💗

This generosity means so much to us. These donations will help feed so many cats whose owners are struggling and ensure lots of hungry tummies stay full over the coming weeks. 🐱💕

Every single sachet makes a difference, and Sharon's kindness and thoughtfulness will have a real impact on families and their beloved pets across our community.

🐱🐱 More cat referrals! 🐱🐱

We have another 5 hungry cats to support tomorrow!

First, a lady in Great Barr reached out for help with feeding her 2 cats. We've put together a food parcel for her babies, and our wonderful Weronika will be delivering it tomorrow evening to make sure they have full tummies for the week ahead.

We also heard from a returning client in Halesowen who needed some extra support for the 3 cats in her care. Honestly, it feels like it's raining cats... and then some more cats! 😹 Our lovely Andy will be collecting the parcel shortly and delivering it tomorrow to make sure those cats are looked after too.

I'd also like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to the wonderful Kath O'Callaghan Earlier this week she thought of us when she had some spare pet food and dog accessories. She kindly dropped everything off at St Albans Community Association for us, and I collected it today.

Your kindness and generosity help us continue supporting local pet owners when they need it most. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a real difference to the animals we help.

🐾📦 **Two More Referrals Supported Today** 📦🐾

Today we packed up support for two more families who are struggling to keep their beloved pets fed.

🐶 Our first parcel is for a gentleman in Dudley who is a returning client and needs support for his three dogs. This food parcel will be collected over the next few days, ensuring his dogs have full tummies for the week ahead.

🐱 Our second referral came from Oldbury for a gentleman facing financial difficulties who needed help feeding his four cats. I'll admit, I started to panic a little as we had completely run out of dry cat food! Thankfully, when I arrived home, I was greeted by an Amazon delivery containing two large bags of cat biscuits.

💙 A huge thank you to Elizabeth Shuck for saving the day! Your kindness arrived at exactly the right moment and means we can now provide this much-needed support and help this client feed his beloved cats.

The cat food parcel will be taken to St Albans Community Association tomorrow for collection, giving our volunteer drivers a well-deserved break while still ensuring the cats get the food they need.

👏 Thank you again, Elizabeth. Your generosity has made a real difference to a family and their pets today. You truly are a lifesaver.

🐾 Three Hungry Dogs Will Have Full Tummies This Week 🐾

Tonight we received a referral from Dudley for a lady who is struggling to feed her three dogs – two Greyhounds and a Staffie x Husky. With three hungry mouths to feed, we knew we had to step in and help.

To be honest, it was quite a surprise to receive a dog food referral for a change, as most of our requests are for cats. But no matter what type of pet needs support, we're here to help where we can.

Tomorrow, our wonderful volunteer Stephen Monk will be delivering this parcel packed with goodies to make sure all three dogs have full tummies for the week ahead. ❤️🐶🐶🐶

A huge thank you to everyone who donates food and supports our work. Without your kindness, we wouldn't be able to help families keep their beloved pets fed during difficult times.

What a great day! 🐾❤️

We finally moved all of our sale stock out of the front room, and Princess Evie the Diva is definitely much happier about it! I'm sure the smells of other pets on the donated harnesses, toys and beds were stressing her out a little, so this morning I gave the front room a complete blitz and created plenty of space for Evie to have her play area back.

Safe to say she was thrilled! 🥰 She's been zooming through her tunnels, flicking her little springs all around the room, throwing her catnip toys into the air, and has now completely worn herself out and is sprawled across the dog's bed! 😂

The good news didn't stop there. We had a lovely visit from Chantelle who popped by to sign some charity paperwork and brought with her a huge bag of dog and cat treats donated by the amazing and thoughtful Elizabeth Shuck . Elizabeth spotted them on offer and cleared the shelf for us! What a wonderful gesture. ❤️

Then, just minutes later, there was another knock at the door. This time it was an Amazon delivery containing much-needed kitten food and cat litter! We don't know who sent it, but if it was you, thank you so much. 🐱❤️

Both of these donations will go a long way in helping us support more people and their beloved pets through difficult times. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a real difference and allows us to continue providing vital support to families who need us.

A huge thank you to Helen Colledge Samuels Malwina Markowska , Szymon and Weronika Olszewska for helping us start moving some of our fundraising stock into our new garage this morning. 💙

After a good sweep and tidy up, it's already looking so much better and is starting to feel like a proper storage space for the Pet Food Bank!

Now we just need to organise another moving day to tackle the rest of our stock that's currently stored in the pub basement. 😭😭 Anyone who has seen those narrow stairs will know that's going to be a much bigger challenge! 🤣🤣🤣

Having this additional storage space means we can now start accepting donations of good quality, sellable items to help support our fundraising efforts. Every penny raised helps us continue providing food to pets whose owners are struggling financially.

If you have any unwanted items that could be sold to raise funds, please consider donating them to us. Simply send us a message and we'll be happy to arrange collection where possible.

🐾 EMERGENCY CAT FOOD APPEAL 🐾
Another cat parcel is leaving today to support a lady in Tipton so she can feed her three adult cats. Our wonderful board member, Helen Colledge Samuels will be dropping this off after dinner to make sure they all have plenty of food for today and the week ahead! ❤️

⚠️ The Bad News...
We are now completely out of dry cat food and kitten food. 😭😭😭😭

Because of this, we cannot accept any more cat referrals until our stock is topped up.
While we plan to buy some dry food over the weekend using our emergency funds, these funds are usually strictly reserved for:

* Petrol costs for our delivery drivers 🚗
* Essential pet items that are rarely donated 🩺
* Buying storage solutions for our new garage 📦

How You Can Help
If you can spare even a little, we desperately need:
1. Dry cat food (any brand)
2. Kitten food (both wet and dry)

🐾 Supporting Our Amazing Partners at Monarch Mutts 🐾

As many of you know, we've been working closely with the wonderful Monarch Monarch's Mutts Dog Rescue over the past few months to create a storage space and donation point for our Pet Food Bank.

Their hub at the Cornbow Centre in Halesowen is absolutely gorgeous, and if you haven't had the chance to visit yet, now is the perfect time! 💙

They have some fantastic new groups starting every Monday for people and their pets, offering a friendly, welcoming space where both humans and animals can socialise, learn, and have fun together. Whether you're looking to meet new people, spend quality time with your furry friend, or simply see what they're all about, you'll be welcomed with open arms.

We're incredibly grateful for the support Monarch Mutts have shown us, and we'd love to help spread the word about the amazing work they're doing within our community.
