Please think twice before picking baby birds up. Although this always done with good intentions, you often cause more harm than good if they are not in danger or injured. This is a good guide if you are unsure. Please do not try to hand rear birds either, they require an experienced rehabbing facility.

Do you know what to do if you find a baby bird on the ground?

Last year we received an average of 140 calls a day from members of the public concerned about baby birds.

Follow on social media to find out about the baby birds in our care and visit our website to find out more!

Welcome Tilly to the Pet Support family 🐾🫶. Tilly’s story has a lovely happy ending …from being abandoned in a caravan… to falling on her feet and being adopted by the best mum and dad she could ask for. Tilly absolutely LOVES treats an back rubs, after she got a couple of grumbles out of her system she became my best friend when she thought that was all I was there to do (with a cheeky nail clip added in 😆)

Welcome Simba, Mia, Lillybelle, Bluebell and Betsy! It was a pleasure to have these 5 siblings join Pet Support! We have a daughter, a sister, a mum and friends! They all had their very first nail clip and were mostly brave! Lillybelle wasn’t in complete agreement but realised getting a dreamie at the end wasn’t too bad after all, and also stuck around to give all the others moral support (or maybe telepathically telling them to be naughty 😼)!

A year’s transformation with Zeus ❤️
He used to have really inflamed and sore ears as he would not let anybody clean or apply his allergy treatment, so they would just get worse and worse.

We began with trust building, ear touch, space, patience, precautionary muzzle as could be very nervous and reactive…..now to a relaxing procedure he really enjoys with lots of treats!

A big welcome to Mabel who has just joined the Pet Support family. Mabel was in need of a bottom clip and bathe due to some matted faeces and also a nail trim, it was a pleasure to help her.
Rabbits should EAT their first round of poo (caecotrophs) as this contains all the nutrients they need to absorb from their food. If they don’t eat them they can sometimes get stuck to their bottom. There are sooo many reasons that can cause this, from overeating the wrong food (especially carbs) to arthritis / pain making it difficult for them to reach.

Say hello to Simba and Dylis that have joined the Pet Support family 🐾.
Here is Simba giving himself a nice face wash with his newly soft paws after a nail clip.
Neither of them are a fan of the procedure! and both put on some very cute protests, but once they realised it was it was in their best interests for their claw safety, Simba went from cross to cuddly in a couple of minutes ! Like a typical male - food won 😹and he gave in to some dreamies after the nail clip. He also put on a bit of show for his owner and once out of sight out of mind …he suddenly wanted fuss.
Dylis - not so easily pleased by a dreamie but sat very still once she finished her impressive cliff hanger attempt from her tall cat tower! Never a dull cat story at Pet Support!
Owner said this was overall much less stressful than taking them to the vets for this. 🐾
