Hello furry friends
Due to a shoulder injury which needs surgery ASAP, I am unable to carry on grooming.

ALERT ALABAMA ROT
There have been cases reported in the Cannock chase and Sutton park areas. The most recent dog to die from this disease was a week ago. Symptoms include, red sores or ulcers on the chest, mouth and below elbows and knees and leads to kidney failure within 10 days. 9 out of 10 dogs die from it. There is no know cure at present but early intervention may save your dogs life. So to you are advised to wash your dogs legs and chest off after each muddy walk as this is where it’s thought that the disease is contracted and try to keep to drier tracks. Symptoms include redness, sores or ulcer type marks on any ( not all) of the areas mentioned, after 2-7 days, signs of kidney failure are present, unusual tiredness, reduced appetite and possibly vomiting. Keep a keen eye open and pass this on to doggy folk when walking in the above areas. This disease is still considered to be rare, lets keep it that way.

ALERT to dogs in the Sutton Coldfield area,
There is a Very nasty Tummy Bug going around that affects dogs that are being walked in Sutton Park at present.
Your dogs May be safeguarded by wearing a (greyhound) muzzle which prevents them from eating unwanted goodies in the park. A few dogs have gone to the vets presenting with dehydration and diarrhoea the worst case I have come across resulted in 2 days on a drip at the vets and a £700 bill

No need to tell you to keep your dogs OFF pavements or Tarmac today, or even not to walk your dog till after 7:30 pm. But if your dog is fed up and does not know what to do with himself, after you have done all you can to cool him down, give him some refrigerated carrots to munch on in the shade. 🐕😜

Remember to walk your dogs in the morning or late evening today to prevent heat stroke and burnt paws. If they get too warm, try dampening their ears with cold water, taking care not to get any water in the ear canal, this can also be applied to rabbits. 😎🐾🐕🐰🔥

Flair with Fur is on holiday from Wednesday 29th June to 4th July inclusive as I am going to Paris to meet my hubby, son and daughter in-law and 2 sister in-laws as they finish their Charity cycle ride from London to Paris in aid of Cancer for Children. 😇🐾🍾🚵🏻

Don't forget to get your dogs microchipped ASAP as it is now Illegal to own a dog without one. I can see that it may apply to cats in the near future as well 🐾🐕🐈

Hello folks, Babesiosis, the disiese spread by ticks, has been seen in Essex. It presents itself by lethargic behaviour and passing blood. 4 dogs have already died from it. My advice to you is to use a Combination flea and tick treatment rather than the normal flea treatment, especially if you take your dog for walks in a wooded area. It has not reached our area yet, but better safe than sorry 🐾🐕🤔
