To all valued customers of Oscar Pet Foods (Stourbridge)

Firstly, can I say a very big "thank you" for your support over the past 10 years!

As you know, in November 2023 my world was turned upside down; it is major life changing events that cause you to reflect on what is important in your life?

At that time, my business went into "caretaker mode" and was being looked after by the team based at Oscar HQ / Head Office (Preston) who continued to look after you, my wonderful customers.

Unfortunately, after 30 YEARS in business - Oscar Pet Foods Ltd (Head Office in Preston, and our supplier of food as one of their franchisees) announced it was heading for administration / liquidation, and at short notice ceased trading around the end of January 2025.

Based on these events, there are TWO key things I want to share with you all regarding the business.

1) After much thought and deliberation, I have decided NOT to carry on with running my Oscars business. Maybe, unofficially classed as early retirement? I still have various business closure things to do, and I'm still in the process of closing everything down correctly. I will officially close the doors to my 10 years in business at end of March 2025.

2) Your pets are, and have always been priority;
- As the dust settles on the closure announcement of Oscar HQ in Preston, and what has come as a terrible shock to my fellow Oscar Franchisees and community - many Oscar business owners across the UK have had to make difficult decisions to continue their businesses to offer the same exceptional level of service that you expect, but with alternative premium quality foods, treats etc. It has been a very emotional time for all !

- Initially, things may be a little different; please be patient as the network strive to get back to "business as usual" or some form thereof.

Oscar Pet Foods delivers in the local area no matter the weather! ❄️☃️😁

It’s definitely been an interesting first delivery week of the New Year! ❄️🧊 🚚

A huge thank you to my amazing customers for being understanding about having to rearrange Tuesday’s deliveries. My van is pretty useless in the snow! ❄️ And to those that could wait until next week 🙏🏼

A little bit of a different delivery method was needed for those that needed food urgently but my van couldn’t get to! 🛷 At OSCARs we will make sure your pet never runs out of food, whatever the weather! ❄️ 🐶 🐱❤️

Overweight pets can easily become couch potatoes and find it hard to leave the house to exercise. It is important to meet our dog's exercise and stimulation needs as well as feeding them a balanced diet, correct for their life-stage, to keep them fit & healthy.🐾🐶

If your dog starts to receive too many calories alongside too little exercise, the weight can slowly creep up! Read more here⬇

Fleas like a warm environment, ideally somewhere between 18-27 degrees centigrade, but with a combination of winter heating and summer sun, fleas have the ideal temperature to be active all year round.🐶🐱

It is with the deepest sadness, and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my beautiful wife (..and joint business owner at Oscars Stourbridge) Tracy who lost her fight with cancer on Thursday 23rd November 2023.

I know that many of you will have met Tracy on your doorstep, or at events where we shared many happy memories of running our business together.

As head office have been running the business for the past few weeks, you may already have been informed of Tracy's passing.

Her funeral will be just after Christmas, on 28th December 2023. The bottom has fallen out of my world !

We didn't have children, but Tracy loved her life, family, and especially our two beautiful dogs (Royal Dogs of Madagascar - Coton de Tulear's).

Tracy was given a diagnosis in mid-July 2023 of vulval cancer - a rare gynaecological cancer with very common, and subtle symptoms.

She had just turned 50 years old at the end of July.

Every day 60 women in the UK are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer and sadly, 21 of these women will die. That's far too many wives, daughters, sisters, partners and friends.

Awareness and education are critical to getting this diagnosed early.

I want something good to come from this, so I'm encouraging donations and fundraising for The Eve Appeal. This is the only UK national charity funding research and raising awareness into all 5 of the gynaecological cancers.

Donations can be anonymous and any amount, via the tribute page. I'd love to raise as much as possible for this fantastic charity before the 28th December.

You can donate via the Tribute page (if you so wish!) - please do not feel obliged to do so. If you can spare even 1 pound or whatever - it will help.
