Royal Mail system Failure
We are very sorry but we will not be able to despatch all orders today due to a major outage at Royal Mail that has prevented 1,000's of mail order suppliers from processing address labels today

Royal Mail’s system has been hit by a major problem, leaving people unable to properly send out their post.

Receiving parcels is now easier!
As we are now sending all parcels Tracked 24 if you download the Royal Mail App you now have the option to change your delivery options when your parcel is on its way, offering flexibility for your delivery. You can now change where your parcel is delivered AFTER it has been sent.

Being able to change delivery options means that you don’t have to worry if you are no longer going to be in.

You will have peace of mind and control over when and where you receive your parcel.

COVID19 Update

We want to reassure all of our customers that unless we are directed to by the government, we will continue to operate as normal ensuring all of our current customers have access to the live foods and other essential items they need.

We understand there is a lot of concern around what direction and measures the government could imposes on us all. Wherever possible we will truly do our upmost to support our customers.

Royal Mail have told us that they will continue to operate as normal and have a number of contingency plans in place to mitigate issues.

Royal Mail states,
“We have extensive experience in being able to quickly deploy business contingency plans, so we continue to provide customers with access to our services and their mail.”

Xmas posting dates
Last despatch will be 12:00 noon Monday 23rd but ideally you should order by Friday 20th
We will be sending orders out again Friday 27th and Monday 30th December then after the New Year we will be sending out again Thursday 2nd January but due to the volume of orders we expect to be sending that day it may be that any orders placed after 11am Thursday 2nd January will not be processed until Friday 3rd January so make sure you order as early as possible.

THANK YOU ROYAL MAIL! after starting work at 5am this morning and not stopping for lunch I am now just finishing at 21:30 because their wonderful new system (Click and Drop) for producing postage labels has once again crashed, this time it was out for most of the day and we have had to manually produce labels for half of our orders.

They had a perfectly good system that we have used for a few years, we spent £1,000's developing the software to integrate with our systems and then were given 2 moths notice that they were withdrawing that system and replacing with Click and Drop which we have now had to spend another small fortune to integrate.

I wish they had made sure they had a solid working system before making everyone change over to it.

So still not working after about 2 hours of being down. I have to leave for the post office and can't finish my labels so loads of people not getting their parcels and the ones I have printed off labels for before the system crashed I can't print the paperwork for. With the severe shortage of mealworms looking like it will be continuing for some time we would urge customers that are using these to feed to domestic poultry and wild birds to try alternatives such as our vacuum packed crickets. This will then reduce the demand so there will be some available for our customers that have Aviary birds that will only eat live mealworms

Good news! After all the snow severely affecting deliveries this week with no pick up from Royal Mail on Thursday or Friday we can safely say normal service will resume on Monday. We apologise to all customers that are waiting for their orders but as you must be aware this was totally out of our control. We have never seen so much snow in Somerset !

If you have Livefood arriving today it may appear completely lifeless due to the cold however in most cases they are just too cold to move and usually make a full recovery if you follow the instructions below.
Upon receipt of your live food place them in a warm dry room 18 to 25 degrees centigrade DO NOT under any circumstances apply external heat to cold live food DO NOT put them on heat pads in a warm vivarium or shine lights on them This is very important as trying to warm live food too quickly will kill them. Full recovery may take between 2 to 4 hours so please allow your insects plenty of time. 99 percent of live food will recover fully providing they are treated correctly upon arrival
