Chilling with Mr. Pep. Hikes are not what this old boy needs at all. Instead especially today with the heat that he doesn't cope with very well. We'll just find a nice shady spot and watch the world go buy. Find all the lovely sniffs and just maybe channel our grumpy old man persona and maybe yell at the occasional person who knows 🤷‍♀️

Please help to spread the word about The Yellow Dog Project 💛

Yellow dogs are dogs who need space and this could be for a variety of reasons such as;
🐾 Anxious around dogs or people
🐾 In Training
🐾 Post Op
🐾 Getting old and less tolerant

We have some posters available in the barn if you have a workplace that would support the project by putting up a poster 💛 help us to help them 💛 thank you Dakota's Choice - Animal Behaviour & Training for helping to create more awareness and supplying posters ! 🐾

Most common recall mistakes part 1
Taking items away from the dogs. Think of building your dogs trust like building a bank account. The more deposits you make the bigger your safety buffer when you need to make a withdrawal.
So the more you respect your dogs boundaries, the more you pay into their trust account the less damage you will do when you have to withdraw from that account. I.e when you need to take something off them that may be dangerous.

Photo dump from this week's walks, can only post ten photos at a time so prepare for a few posts. Monday started us off with the gorgeous Puppy Charlie and his little velociraptor teeth (ouch!) We did some enrichment box a little loose lead and a lot of play. Part 1

Been a long time since I've taken the work dogs to the beach!! Hopefully don't wait as long next time they loved it!! And we had a mini me tag along

Another beautiful day and another amazing walk. Benji boy doing a fabulous job on his off lead time giving loads of check-ins. Our patience in building our relationship and trust has payed off!
Now to start all over again with our new little lady Midge. 2 leads to ensure her safety, she's incredibly timid and if she doesn't like something she pretends it doesn't exist (we should all adopt that attitude!) This is her second walk with us and today after she settled in a bit, acknowledged my presence. Was happy with me talking to her but turned her back when I put my hand out to touch. That's fine that was her very gentle way of telling me we aren't there yet and I respected that and backed off. As with all my dogs I respect their boundaries (unless absolutely necessary of course) we develop our own ways of communication and we strengthen our relationships. I can't wait to see midge come out of herself and build a trusting relationship with myself and the other dogs.
