Dear motorists and non-horse people! Please don’t pull into the “big gap” in front of a horse trailer. That space isn’t for slow driving, it’s our braking distance. If you cut us off and stop suddenly, we can’t stop in time. Inside the trailer, our horses need us to drive gently, especially around curves, so they can stay balanced. A sudden jerk can cause serious injury or even flip the whole trailer.

Look at this photo: the mare barely has room to steady herself. Her foal stands right beneath her. She knows a misstep could hurt her baby, so she stays as still as she can. I can only help her if I’m allowed to drive with care. Please think twice. Most people don’t mean harm, they just don’t know. So let’s spread this message out and change that.

Old age is NOT an excuse for a skinny, suffering horse. Yes, senior horses can be harder to keep weight on. Their teeth wear down, digestion changes, they might need special diets, more calories, or extra care. That should all be consideredwhen buying a horse of any age and is all part of responsible ownership. But when a horse’s ribs, spine, and hips are sticking out, when they’re weak, unsteady, and clearly struggling, blaming “old age” isn’t good enough. That’s neglect, plain and simple.

If a horse is still bright, mobile, and enjoying life but needs extra TLC to maintain weight, then as owners, it’s our job to provide that. But if a horse is too far gone, too weak, too decrepit to recover or live comfortably, then it’s also our responsibility to do the right thing.

Keeping a horse alive just to avoid making the hard decision is not kindness. It’s cruelty.

Our horses gave us their best years. They carried us, taught us, trusted us. The least we can do is make sure they either have proper care or a peaceful, dignified end. No animal deserves to waste away.

Old doesn’t mean starving. Know the difference.

🐎 When the body can’t keep up, but the heart is still in the saddle…

She no longer gallops across open fields, no longer soars over jumps like she once did. Her knees ache, her hands have lost the strength that once held the reins like a whisper of wind. But the passion — it hasn’t faded. Quite the opposite.

Every morning, she walks slowly to the stable. No rush. He’s there waiting — that same gaze, soft, deep, familiar. The horse lowers his head, touching her wrinkled hand as if to say: “I remember every step. And I’ve been waiting.”

She doesn’t race anymore, doesn’t fly with the wind. But every time her fingers brush through his mane — she’s twenty again inside. And every wrinkle on her face holds a story of friendship, trust, and an unbreakable love for horses.

Because a true rider never ages out of who they are. They simply change pace.
And even when the saddle becomes a memory,
the stable remains home.
And the horse — a friend who never leaves. 🖤

💊✋ Avoid moving your horse straight on to clean pasture after worming!

It might feel like the right thing to do, but it actually helps drug-resistant worms take over faster. Instead, keep your horse on the same pasture for a few days. This helps dilute the resistant worms that survived treatment with those the chemical can still target, slowing down resistance. It's the smarter move for your grazing land and your horses in the long run! 👉 bit.ly/AfterWorming
