You know incredibly, this is probably one of the biggest oversights of ‘success’.. hear me out 👇

Absolutely nobody is born with the answers. You aren’t born able to walk, you had to learn to. You aren’t born able to talk.. you had to learn to. So why do we get so frustrated with ourselves when we don’t know the answer to ‘success’?

You see in order to walk, you had to fall down (a lot). And in order to talk, you had to mispronounce and say the wrong thing alot too. So in order to be successful, guess what? You’re going to have to make some mistakes along the way!

The true answer to success is knowing that mistakes and failures are actually really powerful learning curves and therein lies the answer to success. Until you know how NOT to do something, you’ll never learn how TO do something!

Absolutely EVERY ‘successful’ person you know has faced failure. I guarantee it! And if they say otherwise, they’re either lying 🤥 or setting themselves up for one hell of a great failure..

I’ve made many mistakes in my 7+ years of business, costly ones, time wasting ones, stressful ones, ridiculous ‘why the hell did you do that!?’ ones.. you name it, I’ve likely been there! And I see time and time again so many entrepreneurs and small business give up just because they don’t know the answers and/or the right ways to ask for help.

So that’s my goal - to change that! Now I’m not telling you that you’ll never make a mistake again, that’s an impossible promise, we’re human! But if I can save you the heartache, time, money and resources to get you to a HEALTHY and STABLE flow, where you feel confident in knowing your business inside and out, feel content and secure in what you’re doing and HOW to get there with clear and achievable goals.. that’s success 🙌🏼

Well doesn’t this suddenly feel so real 🥹🥺🫶🏻

Today, after opening our virtual doors 1st May 2018, we’ll be closing them for the final time at midnight tonight!

We’ve just a handful of stock left, if you’re after an XS or L collar or an XXS harness - you’re in luck!

But I’d equally you’d like to help us clear our stock by helping us donate to charity (we were approx 399 items donated as of this morning) for our last good deed. You can donate an item from just £1.99 and we’ll send these items to rescues / charities who are free to sell on for profit or use them for the dogs in their care 🫶🏻

Our website will be closing THIS weekend 🥺 from Sunday night you won’t ever be able to purchase from us again 💔

There really isn’t much left at all, mostly puppy / toy breed / small breed sizes or a few XL harnesses.. and a few leads! Everything is super, super cheap.. I really want to find a home for everything before we close 🥺

Just wanted it here to document for the memories 🥺

🚚 today we filled TWO Royal Mail vans full of happy post, they literally had to call for back up because they couldn’t fit it all in 🙈

It’s honestly been bonkers, what a crazy not even week it’s been since this closing down announcement and then sale began. I couldn’t have gotten through this without my amazing team, husband and even friends just going above and beyond and giving up their free time to ensure we get through your orders 🥺

We’re REALLY getting through them, and we are REALLY sold out of so many things but please if you’re especially an XS, L, or XL dog owner (so anything puppy / toy breed even Dachshunds.. or like a Staffy, Bully, Lab, Viz, Dalmatian, German Shepherd etc ALLLL the way up to like a Bernese Mountain dog size (OR you know someone who is please tag them in this post 🥺) would you care to take a browse? It’s almost the only sizes we really have left (bar a few if you hunt 👀) and you can defo get a harness and matching lead in most designs if so!! For an incredible price 🤯

Please, please, please don’t leave me with all this stock without a home 😩 think Christmas! Think birthdays! Think future puppies.. I’d love them to find homes 🥺🥺 and we’ve only got a matter of a week left to be able to sell 😳😬😳

Another day down of packing closing down sale orders 🥺🥹🫶🏻 it’s been non stop craziness and I literally can’t believe how much as sold out!

There’s still definitely selections of XS, L and XL at least harness and lead sets available.. really odds and ends of other sizes depending on products.. a fair enough of breed collection too so if you’re a Pug, Frenchie, Spaniel, Dachshund or Cockapoo/Cavapoo owner definitely take a look 👀

To all of our absolutely incredible customers and supporters,

With a heavy heart, I have some news to share with you all that Poppy + Ted will be closing its doors this month, forever.

It’s not been the easiest journey from the start of Poppy + Ted. I’ve celebrated some incredible, incredible highs, but have faced unimaginable lows since I began this journey, first with the loss of my Dad, then Stepdad.. The nail on the head really came when I lost my beautiful Teddy boy in April, it was a huge loss, and although one of the considerations in making this decision, wasn’t the only.. just more the final hit I could mentally take and really forced me to take a look at what I really want to do in life.

Building this business has been my pride and joy for the last 6 years, I’m so, so proud of what I’ve created, the experiences I’ve had and I’m so grateful for the abundance of support I’ve had every step of the way. Without each and every one of you, there would never have been Poppy + Ted and I would have never of made all of the memories and moments I’ve had without you.
And for that I’ll be forever grateful.

I’ll be taking some time to assess my personal next steps, but in order do this I need to close one chapter before the next can begin and so it’s time to announce the closure of Poppy + Ted and with it, make our final announcement ..

Our closing down sale which is now live!

I will cherish every dog I see in Poppy + Ted and hope you’ll still remember our story whenever you pick up your lead and head out on a dog walk for many years to come.

Absolutely everything must go, unfortunately I’ve no use for a few thousand dog accessories to be filling up my spare room.. so I’d love to find a home for each and everyone of them, and who knows.. one day they might become so rare they’ll end up on the Antiques Roadshow and you can tell our story about how you bagged a bargain when we closed!! … (obviously i’m joking!!!)

But for now, I’d love to spend our last month sharing as many memories as we can and enjoy our little community in full force for one last hurrah!

We’re going to have a busy month ahead of us, so I’ll still definitely be around so I’ll save the goodbyes for now. If you need us, you can contant us on [email protected] but please note ANY orders placed from 5th September onwards will be FINAL SALE.

My FIRST ever podcast ‘appearance’ - eep! The lovely Sarah from asked me on and I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and go for it!

It was SO lovely to talk all things Poppy + Ted. From business to my background, we covered a lot of ground about how I started, why I started and what it’s like scaling a business from 0 to NOW!

It’s a really big (and scary) leap to go from handmade hobby to managing large scale manufacturing with some serious cash investments to be made, I’m definitely not the first and certainly won’t be the last to do it - but every journey is SO different so it was lovely to share mine.

It’s a really insightful listen if you fancy hearing it out, it’s a really friendly conversation which would be insightful to know the story of Poppy + Ted as a customer, but equally if you’re thinking of starting a business or have one already, you may find some relatable info and insights.
