IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME🐈⬛💕
On my way back from visiting the vets this morning, heading towards Cayton Bay roundabout i witnessed a black cat cross over the main A165 frantically trying to go through the fencing but not able to, so thinking of crossing the road again. 🐈⬛
I drove to the roundabout and turned round to go towards Scarborough, parking in the nearby bus stop, I had treats in the car, the cat was frantically trying to get through but couldn’t, I had to be careful not to scare her into the busy road, I went to the road side of her and she continued to run up the fence line until she found a tunnel, she ran through and I was able to coax her for some treats which she ravished.
I made a call to Mark at the sanctuary and asked him urgently to bring food and a trap, less than 10 minutes later the trap was set, it didn’t take long for her to go in for food. We transferred her from the trap to a carrier and found the microchip.
Rey had been reported missing since early June, from Cayton, as soon as we saw the name we realised it was Rey whose family never gave up looking for her. A phone call was made to an extremely shocked and happy family.
Rey has been lost for over 5 months but tonight she will sleep well and warm, and her family very relieved.
It’s just incredible that we were on the A165 just at that moment. A very happy ending 💕🐈⬛💕🐈⬛
