PLEASE READ- we are effectively now closed and do not function as a business- we never have . This is because we can no longer trust to sending back repaired items. We are therefore happy to deal with those who can bring and pick up only , or are local. We do apologise , but we have to realise limitations

Today, we have two new patients - a splendid Irish Draught Cross, a grey , who has a broken front leg - We will also re- repair two other legs that were glued with the wrong sort of glue . His companion is an elegant bay thoroughbred , Pictures to follow . Our last guest, the Palomino , has been returned to the owner.

A Palomino pony has arrived today . We were assured that the legs were intact prior to the breaks - however, we found out different - lots of superglue to remove ! When all 4 legs are broken, we have to repair one leg at a time.The filling is then applied and filed , after which comes the paint matching - a full week's job! :-)

All toy repairs are considered too - we can always say no if it is too much of a job , or needs a certain type of specialist - For fun, we are working on a skip find- a toy garage from the 1960's - hand made , shoved in a garage for years ,then discarded . it will have a new life soon - and I will have learned new skills !

We are busy, we just don't blow our trumpet that often ! We look after lots of unwanted reptiles and , sadly , our resources have been tested to the max over several months. Today, we have accepted a beloved Beswick Palomino for attention - Sadly, all his legs were broken , but cleanly . We start by dusting, cleaning , gluing then filling . 24 hours after, the rubbing, then the painting . That is when the workbench becomes an 18 certificate area !

We like a challenge ! - we are working on a teddy bear who needed cleaning and new eyes - over December, we have been cleaning and restoring Brio and other wooden railway sets to make 'as new' toys, a very shabby baseboard was painted and lettered. Just ask - we can do our best!

Working on a special project ! Sadly no pics allowed before Xmas - but we are restoring a precious piece that was thought lost ! Not valuable money - wise yet, beyond price for someone :-) There is still time to book scheduled repairs to be ready by December - we try any sort of china - and do our very best to provide a satisfactory service .

I started The Beswick Horse Hospital - but today , it has extended to the restoration of two low value, yet treasured plaster wall ornaments from the 1930's/40s, a nest of wrens and a native American Warrior - with, I have to say, teeth that look like those nasty veneers in those pop- up ads. ( The owner's opinion , as well as mine) Waiting for a coat of Matt /satin mix varnish to seal in the RailMatch colours and , back to a delighted family! Call us 'The Repair Shop , because I am about to start on a vintage Games Box. :-)

The stable doors of the work shop are closed until New Year , when we are starting work on other species too - including vintage Hornsea pottery items !
