🎆🐾 Top 5 Tips to Keep Your Pets Safe & Calm on Bonfire Night! 🐾🎆

Bonfire Night can be a stressful time for our furry friends. Here are some tried-and-true tips to keep your pets calm, safe, and comfortable during all the noise and excitement!

1: Create a Safe Space 🛏️💤

Set up a cozy, quiet area where your pet feels safe and secure. Use blankets, cushions, or even a crate to create a comfortable “den.” If possible, keep them in an interior room where the noise is muffled.

2: Mask the Noise 🎶📺

Play calming music, white noise, or have the TV on to drown out the sound of fireworks. Close windows and curtains to help muffle the noise even more. Many pets find soothing classical music particularly calming.

3: Stay Calm and Act Natural 🌈🐾

Pets are sensitive to our emotions, so if you’re calm, it’ll help them feel more at ease. Avoid fussing over them too much; act as you usually would so they don’t pick up on any extra stress.

4: Use Calming Products 🌿💧

Consider calming aids like pet-safe diffusers, sprays, or natural supplements to help ease anxiety. Lavender scents, Adaptil (for dogs), and Feliway (for cats) can provide gentle, comforting aromas that relax pets. Always check with your vet before trying anything new.

5: Exercise & Bathroom Breaks Before Dark 🚶‍♂️🌆

Get their evening walk or bathroom breaks in before fireworks start. A tired pet is usually a calmer pet, so some extra exercise earlier in the day can help reduce restlessness.

We had the pleasure of hosting Gizmo last week, he was absolutely amazing and far too cute! We now have the lovely Poppy staying over night, who has settled right in 🙂. We offer solo/same family walks, as well as daily pop ins and boarding.

Four Legged Clover finally got that chaise lounge for the top corner of the garden for that morning sun and cuppa 🙂. We think it’s turned into an amazing dog bed for Clover, Poppy, Tinkerlily and our current boarder Rascal, all sunning it up!

What a lovely morning with Clover and Rascal 🙂. There is nothing better than a doggy play date and it is also a good way to keep the dogs socialised. We also made some new friends too 🙂.
