We care for over 350 rescued animals at our headquarters, Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary based in Worcestershire. As part of our dedicated Education Programme, we facilitate meaningful connections between visitors and our residents, helping to reshape perceptions

of “so called” farm animals and raise awareness of their suffering. Alongside this, we back national campaigns to prevent animal cruelty and inspire people of all generations to make compassionate lifestyle changes.

Say hello to our newest arrival - Tilly the turkey! 🦃👋

Tilly’s rescue story is a remarkable one. As turkeys were being unloaded for slaughter at a farm, this brave young bird made a desperate escape and ended up in a nearby garden. The kind person who found her kept her safe with food and water, but knew she needed a forever home far from harm.

That’s when Tilly came to Goodheart. She’s currently settling in under a short quarantine while we check her over, but soon she’ll be able to meet her new friends.

Having escaped the grim fate that so many young turkeys face, Tilly now stands as an ambassador for her species - a reminder of the full and happy lives every turkey deserves. 💚

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Molly Vasanthakumar as a speaker at our Open Day on Saturday 6th September 🎤💚

Molly will be sharing the work of Stockfree Farming - a UK initiative helping farmers move away from animal farming and towards sustainable, plant-based agriculture. The organisation supports farmers through certification, education, and policy advocacy, creating food systems that are climate-friendly and cruelty-free.

Molly is also the daughter of Kumar, who made the compassionate choice in 2019 to give up sheep farming and brought his flock to our sanctuary instead 💚

We’re sad to share that our sweet Shaun the sheep has passed away 💔

Shaun arrived at Goodheart in 2018 after a kind member of the public spotted three orphaned lambs in very poor condition on a farm. Mickey, Baz, and the tiniest of the trio - Shaun - were just days old and desperately unwell. Our team bottle-fed them and provided round-the-clock care until they grew strong enough to explore the world around them.

Though they all thrived, Shaun’s difficult start left him with a weaker immune system, and as an adult he often struggled to keep weight on. He received extra care, regular health checks, and a special diet, but after a short illness, he sadly passed away at the age of seven.

We wish we’d had more time with him, but Shaun enjoyed many more happy years here than he would have had in the farming system – years filled with safety, friendship, and love. We’ll miss seeing his sweet little face looking up at us every single day. 💚

🎉 YOU DID IT!!! 🎉

Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve reached our £3,000 target and can now buy a replacement quad bike for the sanctuary! 🚜

Our quad bike is absolutely vital for daily tasks and we’d truly be lost without it, so we're incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and shared, helping us raise the funds so quickly. We’ll be heading out to choose a new model next week and will keep you updated - but for now, a massive THANK YOU from all of us, two-legged and four-legged alike! 💚💚💚
