We got tagged in a post earlier this week. Pawsome Canines saw a dumped cockerel when they were walking their dogs.

They were awesome and caught him and got him safe, but couldn’t keep him long term.

We’d had to cancel rehoming a cockerel due to the avian bird flu restrictions we are currently under. So I reached out to the lady and she got in touch with them and Clive now has a loving forever home with a group of ladies.

Clive is one of the lucky ones. So many cockerels get dumped once they start growing because people irresponsibly hatch with no thoughts to what will happen when they inevitably end up with boys 😔

This chonky trio have become the bestest of friends over the summer, and have now moved up closer to the main barn in preparation for winter.

Mr Fuzzy & Parker are right next door and they’re getting to know each other with a view to sharing a winter pad together. Fingers and toes crossed we end up with five grumpy old men living in harmony 🥰

🐷This motley crew were 2 years old at the weekend!

With the exception of Patsy who is much older, and Betsy who was found asleep under a bush at the side of the road, but we think she’s a similar age. They’re definitely ‘sisters from another mother now’

Likes snacks, napping in hay boxes, affection on his terms 🤣

The cats are feral, but they’ve all grown super attached to our awesome landlady Karen who feeds them every day. So when she’s around they know they’re safe and a couple of them will now accept touch from us. We all feel very privileged when we get the opportunity to get up close to them 🥰

‼️ IMPORTANT UPDATE ‼️

Unfortunately we’ve had a outbreak of avian flu less than 3km from us meaning we’ve had to go into immediate flockdown 💔

Because of this we are cancelling our upcoming Halloween open day. All refunds have been processed. We are so sorry, but our priority is keeping the birds as safe as possible. The less visitors we have on site the better.

If you can help us recoup some of the funds we will lose from the open day by buying a raffle ticket for our autumn raffle for just a £1 it would be much appreciated 🫣
