Our next Track and Trail Workshop will be held on Sunday 24 August 11am - 1pm at our private venue in Banstead, Surrey.

This hands-on introduction to mantrailing will ignite your dog’s natural instincts and strengthen the bond between you both.

Mantrailing is the fascinating activity of training your dog to follow the unique scent trail of a person. Rooted in real-world search-and-rescue techniques, mantrailing harnesses your dog’s incredible sense of smell to locate a "missing person" in a controlled and fun environment. It’s a skill every dog can enjoy, regardless of breed, size, or age.

In our Track and Trail workshop, you and your dog will learn the basics of this enriching activity, including:

- Recognizing and following scent trails.
- Building confidence in your dog’s natural abilities.
- Strengthening communication between handler and dog.

Mantrailing isn’t just for working dogs—it’s a fun and rewarding activity for any pet owner looking to add excitement to their dog’s routine.

This workshop offers benefits beyond just fun. Here’s what you and your dog will gain:

1. Mental and Physical Stimulation
Mantrailing engages your dog’s mind and body, making it a perfect outlet for high-energy or working breeds. It taps into their natural instincts, providing the mental exercise dogs crave.

2. Boosted Confidence
Dogs gain a sense of accomplishment as they successfully follow scent trails, especially shy or nervous dogs. Building confidence in a low-pressure, rewarding environment can positively impact their overall behaviour.

3. Stronger Bond
Mantrailing requires teamwork. As you guide your dog through this exciting activity, your communication and trust will deepen, leading to a closer relationship.

4. Stress Relief
Both you and your dog will enjoy the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors and focusing on a single goal. Mantrailing is a wonderful way to reduce stress and enjoy quality time together.

5. Inclusivity and Accessibility
Mantrailing is suitable for all dogs, regardless of age, breed, or physical ability. It’s a low-impact activity that adjusts to your dog's fitness level, making it perfect for puppies, seniors, and everyone in between.

Just 4 weeks into training Otis and he is now like this during his training sessions! So proud of this boy and his owners - they are doing so well! They started the training not being able to leave the front door without Otis getting upset, and now we are on nearly half a minute!

Two days before my son Maximus was born, I said goodbye to my girl, my special Spice.
My 15-year-old Sheltie.
My shadow.
My heart.

She was there at the very start of everything. She got me into Shelties and with her, I discovered my love of agility.
She was there when I launched my dog training business...before the website, before the clients, before the confidence...Spice was there, watching me figure it all out.

She travelled halfway across the world with me when I moved to South Africa. She sat quietly beside me through breakups, breakthroughs and burnout.
She was with me when I moved home at least ten times, and in many ways, she was home.

She didn’t ask for much. She loved doing anything we did together. She loved being close. To know I was near.

Spice had this gentle wisdom about her, like she knew things, felt things, carried things for me. She held space in a way no human ever could. The kind of loyalty you can’t explain unless you’ve known a dog like her.

Losing her, especially so close to bringing new life into the world felt like one door closing as another opened. I am so sad she never got to meet Max.
A deep grief wrapped in the joy of new beginnings.
It’s been confusing and beautiful and heartbreaking all at once.

I still look for her, expecting to see her little face greeting me when I get up in the mornings or when I come home.
Still expect to hear her feet on the floor or see her curled up fast asleep in her usual spot.

But although I miss her more than anything, I feel grateful.
Grateful for every year we had.
Grateful she was by my side all this time.

Spice, thank you my sweet girl.
For your steady presence. For your soft eyes.
For walking beside me through every messy, magical chapter for the last 15 years.

I will miss you endlessly.
And I’ll carry you with me, always. Sleep tight my special girl 🩷.

Thank you Pawsome Raw for keeping her so healthy right until the very end.

🐾 Struggling with your dog’s behaviour? This one simple shift changes everything.

No, it’s not a new gadget or a fancy training tool.
It’s hand feeding—and it will totally change your life!

Whether your dog is reactive, pulling on walks, ignoring you in the park, or just not as connected to you as you'd like…
👉 Hand feeding can be the first big turning point.

Here’s why I ask 90% of my clients to start with this:

✅ It builds calm, focused behaviour
✅ It boosts your bond and trust
✅ It helps with reactivity, anxiety, and overexcitement
✅ It makes your dog want to work with you
✅ And it teaches your dog that listening = rewards = YOU

Hand feeding isn’t about spoiling your dog.
It’s about creating a relationship where your dog pays attention to you, trusts you, and actually *enjoys* learning from you.

It’s perfect for:
🐾 Rescue dogs who need to build trust
🐾 Nervous dogs who feel unsafe in the world
🐾 Busy, high-energy dogs who struggle to settle
🐾 Dogs who bark, lunge, or ignore you on walks
🐾 And honestly... any dog that eats out of a bowl and doesn’t 'need' to

✨ Imagine using mealtime as a training session, bonding moment, and mindset reset—all at once.

Want to learn how to get started?

👇 Drop a “YES” in the comments and I’ll send you my free guide to hand feeding for behaviour transformation.

Our next Training Walk will be held on Sunday 20 April at 12pm at Cheam Park.

These are a great opportunity for owners to put their training into practice in a real-life situation. We tailor the content of the walks to the dogs booked on but typical behaviours covered include:

- Recalls away from dogs and people
- Ignoring other distractions such as dogs, joggers and cyclists
- How to keep your dog's attention
- Preventing chasing behaviours
- How to socialise your dog correctly

Please note, these are not designed to resolve serious chasing behaviours or aggression. Please contact us on how we can help with these problems.

The Emotional Rollercoaster of a Reactive Dog Owner

🚨 If your dog lunges, barks, or growls at other dogs or people, this one's for you! 🚨

We see you. The stress, the frustration, the embarrassment. The constant scanning of the environment, hoping to avoid triggers. The pit in your stomach when another dog appears out of nowhere. All the trainers and behaviourists here at CK9 Training have been through this with our own dogs so we know exactly what you are going through.

You love your dog, but outings feel like a battle. And the worst part? Feeling judged by others who don’t understand what you’re going through.

You’re not alone, and your dog CAN improve.

Reactivity isn’t about being aggressive—it’s about fear, frustration, or over-arousal. With the right training, your dog can learn to stay calm, and you can finally enjoy walks again.

Drop a 💙 if you’d love to stop stressing every time you leave the house with your dog! 👇
