🎅 Breakfast or Tea with Santa 2025 🎅

Come and join us for a festive filled breakfast or tea at the zoo.
Includes: making festive enrichment for the meerkats, watching some of our animals being fed and given their early Christmas gifts, food and drink, individual chat with Santa and an early Christmas present.

Tea starts at 2pm | Breakfast starts at 10am

Dates:
🎅Breakfast: Sunday 14th & 21st December
🎅Tea: Saturday 13th & 20th December

Prices: Adults £25, Children £27, Under 3s £14. Babies too young to take part are free.
Members receive 20% discount

Breakfast: Choose between a Full English Breakfast or a Tasty Pancake Stack with a hot drink or juice.
Tea: Afternoon Tea with sausage rolls, sandwiches, and homebakes with a hot drink, juice or mulled wine for the adults.

Today, our Zookeeping Course Kids put their imaginations and skills to the test as they refurbished our meerkat enclosure!

They created new tunnel systems, burrows, climbing structures, and more. This helps keep our meerkats cognitively and physically stimulated as they explore their new environment, and encourages a whole range of natural behaviours.

Baloo popping onto your feed to say hello!

Baloo, our Mbu Pufferfish, wins the hearts of most visitors as soon as they arrive at the zoo with his cheeky grin and warm welcome!

Did you know... Burrowing Owls mimic rattlesnakes!

🐍 When threatened, burrowing owlets will make a rattling, hissing sound that mimics a rattlesnake call to deter potential predators!

Dust off your Halloween costumes - Boo at the Zoo is BACK! 👻

On Saturday 1st November, the zoo will RE-OPEN at 5:30PM for a spooky evening of ghostly fun!

We have the best supporters 💚

Recently, we have been receiving donations of home-grown fruits and vegetables from various supporters for our animals to enjoy. And we can assure you, no veg goes to waste and we're sure the lemurs can taste the effort that went into growing these incredible courgettes!

Have you spotted Whizbee, our potoroo joey?

Whizbee emerged from mum Myrtle's pouch last month, and has been getting braver every day! Now fully eating solid foods, she's quickly becoming a grown-up potoroo - but still cute and tiny in size ❤️

Our Halloween Rangers Club is back again for kids aged 7-11, and is running on the 27th, 28th and 29th of October.

Each day will have Halloween themed activities, fun crafts, feeding, enrichment creation and much more!

Times: 9am - 4pm
Prices: £55 per day, or three days for £130 (Breakfast, lunch and snacks included)

A massive thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and helped us celebrate International Bat Night! 🦇

It was a great evening, and not only did you help raise awareness of how incredible the world of bats is - but by purchasing tasty treats in the café, you raised money that went directly to Bat Conservation 🦇

Winners of the quiz and the colouring competition will be contacted shortly, we are just reviewing all the submissions.

We are planning a Festive Market Evening on Saturday 6th December. Would you, or anyone you know, be interested in hosting a stall at the zoo?

The markets would be running from 5PM and closing at 9:30PM. It would cost just £15 to hold a stall, and this includes zoo entrance, so you can spend your breaks looking around the animals and other stalls.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept catering businesses, but instead are looking for local small businesses with handmade items to sell.

Each stall will be given an area under cover around the zoo to set up their stall.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis' keeper, Chloe, ran a marathon to save Scotland’s wildcats 🏃‍♀️

Wildcats in zoos and wildlife parks, like Heather (who Chloe care for), are also saving their species in the wild by contributing to Saving Wildcats' breeding for release programme, increasing awareness, and nurturing vital personal connections between people and wildcats.
