🐾 A wee Friday shout out to a new local business.

Me and Cooper went to check out Campsie Natural Pet Supplies and were very impressed. Huge range of different treats available, and good quality too!
My other boy, Travis, has a chicken allergy so we were really pleased to see so much choice of things with no chicken at all in the ingredients.

Brilliant shop and the treats have gone down very well with my gang.
Dogs are allowed in the shop so make sure to take a wee wander over and spoil your pups 😊

☀️ Hot weather week ☀️

Well, hasn't the weather been nice 😍 For us humans at least!

It looks like the higher temperatures have to continue into next week. There are a few things we'll be doing to ensure all our dogs are safe:

🐾 Plenty fresh water available at all times
🐾 Air con doing overtime in the vans
🐾 Stopping to chill out in the shade
🐾 Constant assesment of how the dogs are coping
🐾 Shortening walk duration if needed
🐾 Topping up water bowl on drop off

We'll be keeping a close eye on all the dogs to make sure no one is at risk of getting too hot.

A quick reminder too for everyone - if you ever think your dog is suffering heat injury then the best course of action is rapid cooling and urgent veterinary attention. The old myth that cold water can put dogs into shock is worryingly still going around - up to date veterinary advice is that rapid cooling such as immersion in or dousing with cold water is the best way to cool down a dog that has over heated.

And one for the humans - get the SPF on! 😎

About Kirky Canines

Kirky Canines offers a range of pet services including dog walking, pet sitting, cat visits and puppy drop ins. We cover Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs, Lenzie and surrounding areas.

Our dog walking service provides hour long group walks with small numbers and your dog’s happiness and safety as our priority. We also offer a limited number of daycare spots for dogs to spend the whole day with us.

Puppy visits and drop ins for older dogs can be arranged subject to availability - please get in touch for details.

We also offer cat and small animal visits - looking after your pet when you’re not at home.
