As always we remember Tom and his life of compassion on such a sad day 🦊

***Remembering Tom Worby tragically killed whilst sabbing his first hunt ***

On Saturday 3rd April 1993 Tom Worby, aged just 15, was killed by huntsman Tony Ball at the closing meet of the Cambridgeshire Foxhounds at Low Farm near Gravesley in Cambridgeshire. Mr Ball was never charged or convicted for this unlawful killing.

Today some of the team decided to check on The South Durham Hunt just incase they decided to brave the snow and ice and go out killing foxes.
We wathed and waited for a good few hours and with hearing the constant sound of hounds in the kennels we were thankful they refrained from putting hounds and horses in danger.
With wildife getting a reprieve for a short time we headed home knowing foxes would be safe for time being.

We still consume fuel whilst checking on the hunts tonhwt o and back from the locations. These have a impact on our funds ……

Brand new UKACF petition to Durham Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen: leave no stone unturned in the hunt for Lucky's killers.

A month has now passed since much loved family pet Lucky was stolen from her garden tied to a tree and set alight by a group of people with a grudge against her family. Five suspects were quickly identified and questioned by police but released under investigation. With the passage of time, hopes of a successful prosecution and conviction start to dim - hence this petition.

While we gather from Lucky's owner - a woman in her mid-50s with a serious heart condition - that the work of the police officer assigned to the case has been exemplary, we are asking Durham Constabulary to pursue Lucky's killers with vigour and not shelf the case.

There is a wider issue here. When an act of gratuitous cruelty like the burning to death of an innocent dog goes unpunished the perpetrators will feel empowered to go on to commit more sickening crimes, racking up more and more victims - animal and human alike.

We have heard that a climate of intimidation prevails in Chester le Street, where law-abiding people fear retribution if they speak out. The force also needs to give the public reassurance that they will be protected from harm. It's inexcusable that a group of wrong-doers are allowed to go around terrorising a community unchecked.
