Just found this of AJ enjoying the tub on a hot day a few weeks back.
I know I moaned about the heat, but I actually think it was better than today’s dullness 🫣

We require at least 7 days notice if you need to cancel your booking, otherwise you will be charged.
If you book a period of time but decide to return from your holiday early, you MUST STILL PAY for your entire booked period!
If you don't turn up for your booking and "forget" to let us know you won't be needing it, don't be surprised if we refuse any future bookings you try to make!
Please, where possible, always try to bring your dog(s) during morning opening hours. This gives them the best opportunity to settle in before bedtime.

Tuesday 9am - 11am & 4pm - 6pm
Wednesday CLOSED FOR ARRIVALS/DEPARTURES

We do dayboard too. And these are charged at an increased rate. But we can accept an arrival from the earlier time of 8am. These days are only available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

If none of these times suit you, you can pay a £10 out of hours fee by PRIOR ARRANGEMENT to suit you and us, at the time of booking AND NOT ON WEDNESDAYS!!

The only things you need to bring along with your dog(s) are the following...
a> A lead
b> His/her up to date vaccine card including microchip number
c> His/her usual food....please ensure there's enough for the whole stay!!

Things we supply...
a> Bowls
b> Beds and bedding

Dogs rarely play with their toys when here as there's too much else going on to occupy them so please don't bring any as it makes it harder for us to clean their kennel and we can't be held responsible if they get lost. A decent sized deer antler or other natural alternative to chew on is accepted.
PLEASE NOTE.....WE DO NOT GIVE DOGS RAWHIDE WHILST THEY ARE HERE WITH US!!!! IT IS A VERY UNSAFE PRODUCT FOR DOGS DUE TO THE WAY IT'S PRODUCED AND A MAJOR CHOKING HAZARD!!

The only things you need to bring with your cat(s) are...
a> A secure cat carrier (please use a solid box rather than those soft bag ones as they aren't particularly safe)
b> His/her regular food...enough for the whole duration
c> Proof of vaccine and flea product used (see note below on this!)

Things we supply for cats...
a> Beds and bedding
b> Litter trays and cat litter
c> Bowls
d> Scratching posts

Please try to refrain from bringing toys as it makes it difficult for us to clean the pens.
*Note regarding the flea control.....we ONLY accept cats that have been treated for fleas with a product from the vets. Proof of purchase must be shown on arrival. We do not accept the following makes.... Frontline, Shirleys, Bob Martin or any other other the counter/pet shop brand. It MUST be an up to date product from your vet!! We have to be strict on this because we don't want fleas in our cattery because it means shutting the entire thing down until it's all been treated!!!

If you turn up out of our opening hours without letting us know, don't be surprised if you get ignored!!! We aren't being unreasonable, we're just trying to stick to a routine for the sake of our guests, also believe it or not, we do have a life to live of our own too.

So, for those of you who will read this and still ask how much it'll be for your dog to stay if booked in from a Friday to Monday, that's 4 days so it'll be £72 for a single dog or £120 for 2 sharing.
Or if you book Thursday to Saturday it'll be £45 for 1 dog (as Saturday is charged at a half day fee as it's morning pick up only)

Also a side note to consider…..yes this is a business but it’s also our family home. We know you are due to arrive so when you get here, please don’t toot your horn as it upsets the dogs, and don’t wonder around the yard looking for us…..especially DO NOT walk up to our house and knock on the door!! Have some patience and we’ll be with you asap. Please leave your pets safely in your vehicle, but if it’s a hot day so you need to get your dog out, please DO NOT allow male dogs to p*e up anything…as already mentioned, it’s our home!

Thank you.

This video pretty much sums up why dog’s (well most dogs, as can’t please them all 🤣😝) love coming here.

How many kennels allows this much time for dogs to just roam about and form natural bonds with each other? This was only a few minutes of this particular session. And as you can tell by all the relaxed mooching around, they are happy.

After 20 years of owning this business, and a lifetime of owning animals, I still love to sit and watch the interaction between them. You learn so much from studying their behaviour like this.
Owning one dog is wonderful and the bond you get with one is incredible. But the dynamics soon change once another is introduced. And even more so once more are factored in. To watch how different breeds treat each other is also interesting.

People often ask “ but how do you know what dogs can mix?” Because after so long of being around animals, you learn the signs of who can safely mix and who can’t.

Our job has become that bit harder recently because vets are not allowing people to castrate their male dogs as easily. Now this can cause friction between dogs when there are multiple entire males on sight plus females. So for everyone’s safety, we will sometimes have to limit these interactions. After all, we’re here to keep all our guests as safe as possible and hopefully people would rather their dogs return home in one piece!

Then you get people concerned because their dogs are nervous around others so would prefer them kept separate. This is completely fine as we have the individual paddocks, but more often or not, once a dog is allowed to free roam, in neutral territory, and can decide which friends he/she wants to make, their anxiety often passes. Sometimes a dog just needs the opportunity to mix to become happier in other dogs company and this may not be possible when at home.

Anyway, shut up Miranda!! 🤓

This was only meant to be a video post but I got carried away 😜🤣

(Oh and if anyone is concerned by the amount of dry hu***ng carried out by the Dougster 😛, don’t panic, he’s castrated and completely loveable. And he only ever chats up the girls who already have the hots for him, which is basically all the girls!!! Such a stud 🤣🤣🤣🤣)
