🌟 STAR OF THE MONTH! 🌟March 2025…

Our star of the month this time absolutely has to go to this beautiful little lady, Ponyo! Ponyo has been working on her big feelings out and about on training walks with Maya. It’s taken a little while to build the trust between Ponyo and Maya as she’s a bit unsure of strangers, but Ponyo turned a huge corner this month by making it all the way to the park and back! We’re so glad Maya is slowly but surely entering your circle of trust Ponyo, can’t wait to welcome you to group walks when you’re ready and in the meantime we’ll keep on celebrating all your wins along the way, big or small! ❤️

Setting up and running a small business is never easy, and we want to use this IWD to thank each and every one of the incredible women who have helped us along the way…

Thank you to our superwomen mums for believing in us, supporting us, inspiring us and even covering the odd walk when it was desperately needed! 😉

Thank you to our sisters, for help with graphic design, stupid spreadsheets 🙄 and social media and for always being there to pick us back up when we feel deflated ❤️

Thank you to our friends for your unwavering support, understanding when we’re too busy spinning about 50 different plates and sticking by us regardless of our sometimes chaotic schedule! (And sorry it sometimes takes us 10-14 working days to reply to texts 🤪)

🌟 STAR OF THE MONTH! 🌟 (Feb 2025)

Our star of the month for February has to be the gorgeous Bodhi! Bodhi had to have a little break from walks while he worked on some generalised anxiety with a behaviourist. This has been Bodhi’s first full month back with us and we are blown away with how well he’s doing - we are so proud of him! It’s clear how much love and effort his family are putting in to helping him and we love seeing his progress week to week. Well done Bodhi you superstar!! ❤️

Here are our faces for the algorithm 😂 and now we’ve got your attention we’d like to explain our introduction process for newbies…

1. Enquiry stage: we’ll email over some questions to get a better idea of your dog and whether our services could work for you.

2. Meet and greet: next we’ll schedule a meeting with you, your dog and both of us. This can be either in your home or out on a walk and helps us to get a better understanding of your dog and their needs, and will give you a better understanding of us/how we work.

3. The logistics: if everyone’s happy to continue after the meeting, we will send you over an information form and our terms and conditions/contract. We will then discuss between us what group we think your dog will work well in (considering their age, location, play style and walking needs).

4. Trial period: next we’ll schedule in a trial walk as either a solo or a small group to see if your dog is happy walking with us. We’ll then continue to trial your dog over a month to ensure we’ve found the perfect group/walk(s) for them.

5. Fun with friends! If all goes well, your dog will be welcomed into the DogKind family with open paws and ready to have lots of fun and adventures with their new friends! 🐾

🐾 Foodie Fridays: Shepherd’s Pie! 🐾

Here’s a dog-friendly recipe that’s perfect for your pup to enjoy after a long walk with DogKind or for a special treat!

Ingredients:
• 1/2 tsp olive oil (for lamb), 1 tsp for mash
• 2 carrots (peeled & diced)
• 1 celery stick (diced)
• 1 garlic clove (peeled – don’t forget! 🧄)
• 500g minced lamb (or leftover roast lamb)
• 200ml unsweetened oat milk
• 400g chopped tomatoes
• 400ml water
• Fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
• 150g peas
• 1kg sweet potatoes (peeled & cut into chunks)

📝 *Note: Always peel the garlic and use unsweetened oat milk – garlic & sweeteners are no-go for dogs!*

Method:
1. Cook carrots, celery, and garlic in olive oil until softened, then add the lamb mince and cook through.
2. Stir in oat milk, tomatoes, water, and rosemary. Simmer for 1 hour, then add peas for the final minute.
3. While that’s simmering, make the mash! Boil sweet potatoes, mash with olive oil, and let it cool.
4. Serve in your pup’s bowl or spread on a lick mat for extra enrichment! 🐕

Tip: Freeze any leftovers for a tasty midweek treat!

Your dog will love this nutritious, delicious dish – just in time for their next walk with DogKind! 🐕💚
