DONT FORGET DOGS DIE IN HOT CARSCars can very quickly heat up to dangerously high temperatures, even if it doesn't feel particularly hot outside – for example on a 22°C day the inside of a car can reach an unbearable 47°C within an hour!
The advice from the RSPCA is as follows
if you see a dog shut in a car and it is showing signs of distress call 999,if the situation is critical and the police have not yet arrived,, and you need to break the windows to get into the car, tell the police what you are going to do and why, take photos, if there are any witnesses get their names and telephone numbers as legally it could be seen as criminal damage.
Dont be afraid to call 999,

Are you and your dog prepared for warmer weather? 🥵

With temperatures set to rise in many parts of the UK this week, please look out for your furry friends 💛

More tips: https://bit.ly/4jKtQnW

[Image description: An infographic lists ways to keep your dog safe in warm weather. 1. Walk your dog when it's cooler; early morning or late evening. 2. Ensure your dog has plenty of water and shade all day. 3. Do the tarmac test: if you can't comfortably hold your hand on the tarmac for five seconds, then it is too hot for your dog's paws. 4. Take extra care with flat-faced, overweight, unwell and older dogs. Exercise is the most common trigger for heat-related illness so take care not to over excert your dog.]
