Moving things about here so these blue buffs are inside while we rebuild our pens for the remainder of the year and next. Our main focus for the next year will be Blue Buffs - we have consistently hatched this colour with great success this year and happy with the results. Our grower pen is also should great promise. We should have a couple of pairs heading to auction in Sept (if it ever goes ahead!) we have cut back a lot of breeding pens to focus on this colour. We still have a few hens avail in various colours if anyone is still looking for some.

Going forward Blue Buff and calico will be our main focus …..I have worked on this project for four years and getting great results now. We have two breeding groups of blue buff and two calico producing consistent results. The calico is a splash buff variant. Photos below

Ok so there is no update on auctions reopening so I have pairs of birds all sexually mature and proving themselves so if anyone is looking for top quality birds pm me x

This group is our mottled USA and showgirl growers that were due to go to auction last month. Fingers crossed for the May auctions going ahead. They are now 10 months old and to be paired up for auction with girls. Couple of them will be staying here for future breeding groups later this year/2026

Tolkien now three years old looking more fantastic each year! He is now servicing the splash, choc and mauve splash ladies. Last year we mainly used his son Floyd but he is now being used to set the type and line breed this next gen before we use an outside c**k to open the genetics back up for the next gen. He has proven himself consistently the past 2.5yrs with zero feet faults and a great outline in his offering.

Our ducks are not spoilt at all lol! Second “mini pond” seeing as the sun is out in addition to their big pond. We now have fertilised eggs from Snap, Quackle and Pop! Collecting for the next couple of weeks and should have some ducklings in a month or so which will be our show stock for next year 🙏🏻 cannot wait!!

We have some exciting news!!! My stunning trio of (saxony/apricot drake project colour) Indian runner ducks I bought last year have started laying and Snap is doing his job it seems. They were bred by Tom Soper/higher horsebrook and I cannot wait to see what their babies turn out like. I have high hopes for them and hope to show them. Tom consistently wins champ shows and I feel honoured to have some of his birds.

Auctions still looking like they will be off in April too. So aiming for May for our pairs to be on sale at. Lanark and York auctions when running….

5 x pairs of double mottled USA/Showgirls
1 x pair black SG c**k and black mottled (single dose) USA hen
1 x pair blue USA c**k and blue splash SG hen

Our last auction hammer price range was £150-250 a pair. We had the highest sale prices that day for chickens! We breed to the American breed standard! For health, temperament, and correctness and won’t sell any birds we would not be happy to breed from ourselves!
