A fun week but I am missing all those that are off on their holidays!

I’m forced to have some time off now so will look forward to seeing all my besties in a week or so 🐾❤️

We’ve had a lovely week despite the heat again - it’s tricky as despite the overcast skies and drizzle it’s still exceptionally warm for our four legged friends to be galavanting about! But trying to tell the spaniels to take it easy is another story (Bonnie 👀😂)

Don’t be an idiot. Keep those pups inside ☀️

The equivalent to how your dog will feel if you’re out walking in the current heatwave.

I will say it over & over… no dog has ever died from not being walked but they have from being walked out in this heat (heatstroke)

One of my lovely clients has had the most gorgeous little babiesssss 😍😍😍 I’m so proud of what a good mumma she is being 🥰

There are a few still 👀🏡 so if any of my other clients would like to get one so I can walk them 😂😂 please get in touch! (Or knows anyone else searching for their next bestie). They are red/yellow labs.

They come from the BEST home and only the best will do.

(And no, I’m not allowed a third 😩😩)

An interesting one heat wise☀️, but it’s been so nice to be able to do a couple of days of normal walks this week without it being too warm!

Very much enjoying today being cooler - not looking forward to the return of the heat again tomorrow! Hope all your pets are coping well.

We’ve had some early starts and a few rejigs, but I’ve managed to get pretty much everyone out for their walks. Plus it’s been a very cat heavy few weeks - I love it! 😻🐾

Check on your small furries, too. They’re just as at risk of heat stroke as the larger pets in this weather 🐭 🐹 🐰

A heat alert has been issued for the UK over the next few days. Guineas don't cope well with heat, they are unable to sweat and are potentially at risk of heat stroke.
If your guineas live outdoors make sure your hutch is not in direct sun. Hutches in sunlight for even a small amount of time can reach very high temperatures inside.
If you find your guinea with any symptoms of heat stroke - lethargy, drooling, twitching, unable to stand up they need to be taken to a vet straight away as an emergency.

A busy week with lots of early starts. Today has been an absolute scorcher, can’t believe how hot it was by 10am!

Here’s a few fave doggy enrichment ideas to help keep your pups engaged over the coming hot week whilst walks are limited:

- frozen Kongs/stuffable toys/lickimats (with peanut butter/wet food/natural yoghurt/sweet potato paste etc)
- frozen carrots/cucumbers/bananas etc
- frozen marrow bones from the butcher/farm shop (Gunner & Waffles’ fave - White Row Farm Shop sell them in the freezers at the back!)
- scentwork games (hide the treats or toys - where is it)
- snuffle matts or natures snuffle mats - scatter feed in the grass
- teach them a new trick or two
- give them a cardboard box to destroy! Hide treats in there. I’ve also seen dogs that love ripping up lettuces/cabbages (G&W not that keen on that option though 😂)
- puzzle toys with hidden flaps/switches etc (Winston James Woof in Frome sell some great ones)
- treat bobbing in a paddling pool/bucket/any receptacle big enough!
- make an obstacle course/agility course

Been very forgetful again and didn’t post last week’s photos, 🤦🏼‍♀️ so here they are now.
We had a very very soggy day on Thursday - just a bit different to this week!

Whoops, forgot to post last weeks pics! It was only a 2 day-er for me but still managed to pack in lots of walkies. Back to it tomorrow and fingers crossed it stays dry!
