Here is my latest update. Last week I finally got to meet my surgeon. I went with options for what procedure I may prefer after speaking with the consultant, but on meeting him he had already decided what was happening, as he said it would be the best procedure for me. He has decided that the removal, of my left breast is a must and to fill it with my own body fat. ๐ he said I may just have enough, (best news, not that fat after all ๐๐) if not enough to fill they will play around with it at a later date, not literally ๐ซข so one may be bigger than the other for the time being. They will then cut under the armpit fill it with dye to see whatโs going on with the lymph nodes at this present time only three will need removing.
There will be several cuts, one across the stomach to remove the fat, to fill the breast, one cut from between the breast to the stomach to reattach the nerves etc, one under the armpit for the lymph nodes and then obviously one for the breast. I need to wear a bind for a while and support for breast. Not to do anything at all for a week. No driving for a month or dog walking for 8 weeks atleast. I can walk with them but not lead walking. Full recovery 3 months.
The surgeon informed me that I should have been booked in for two more chemotherapyโs. I told him Iโve had no information on this, so another mess up. So he decided that he will put me in for surgery asap, unless oncology decided otherwise. I canโt really understand why I need chemo when Iโm having a mastectomy anyway, no one has explained that yet.
So waiting for my appointment. I was informed it could be between 2 weeks to a month, he added chances will be earlier than later ๐ reality kicking in, feeling a bit nervous now, because I know itโs not gonna be pretty and keeping myself still and indoors โฆ. Well ๐คช hmm ๐ค
So everyone who will need their pooches walking while I am off I have some wonderful ladies who are happy to jump in and help me/you out so you donโt have to worry. If you need one of them to step in give me a shout and we can get something sorted. The pooches that have been covered on my chemo weeks you are already sorted ๐พ๐พ๐
