At STAR, every single dog matters. 🐾 We’re fully committed to transparency, care and lifetime support for every dog and every adopter. Our adoption process is designed to be thorough, safe and supported from start to finish.

We truly believe that every rescue charity should be held to the same high standards, the dogs deserve nothing less.

We’re also proud to share that STAR is the only Cyprus-based rescue charity currently licensed in Scotland – something we take great pride in as it reflects our dedication to doing things the right way.

TWO KITTENS FROM THE WILDFIRES

We would like to give them both a name , we can’t just leave them as baby kitten 1 and 2.

Two adorable kittens were found in the aftermath of the wildfire in Cyprus.

They are both little boys, and they have some burns on their paws and body 😢 they are little fighters and they are receiving full treatment.

We are looking for name suggestions, Maria Mournehis will then select a name for each one of them.

currently their medical needs have been covered by our lovely vets in Cyprus and if anyone wishes to donate towards their future costs, you can do so.

We are currently looking after 18 dogs from the fire, and many cats. Some are temporary until they can go back to their evacuated rescuer, others will stay with us, and a couple found in the fire 🔥

Any funds raised will not only help any of these dogs, but others that need help.

Foster Carers Needed in the UK – Help Give Free up Space for Fire Survivors

We’re running out of space in Cyprus
In the wake of the devastating wildfires in Cyprus, our shelters and foster carers are overwhelmed. Many dogs have been rescued from unimaginable situations—left behind, injured, or displaced—and we’re doing everything we can to give them safety and care.

Our next flight to the UK is scheduled for August, and we need foster carers ready to welcome dogs when they arrive.

By fostering, you’re not just giving a dog a safe place to land—you’re helping us make room for the next one still waiting in danger.

💛 We cover all vet and travel costs. You provide the love and a temporary home.

🆘 CYPRUS IS ON FIRE 🆘

Wildfires are tearing through villages, forests, and lives. Animals are trapped, dogs left to die in cages. Shelters are evacuating.

We are supporting a vet pop up in the area.

What you can do to help today:

✅ Offer a foster home if you're in Cyprus
✅Offer a foster home in the UK- help free up space in Cyprus
✅ Share this post to raise awareness
✅ Send supplies to local shelters and volunteers
✅ Donate to STAR to support our rescue work

A vet station has been set up outside LA CROISSANTERIE in SOUNI VILLAGE.

Vets here can provide first aid to animals that are rescued from the fires until they can be moved to other clinics.

Anyone who rescues a dog in the areas affected by the fires can bring them here.

URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED AROUND EDINBURGH, OR ANYWHERE IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND. Her Mum will drive her.

Beautiful kind, gentle totally adorable Angie has been in her forever home for just 24 hours and her dad has suffered a major reaction to her, resulting to a visit to A&E.



The family is totally devastated, and they absolutely have no choice but to let her go, Angie was in foster for 3 weeks with many dogs, cats, children and proved to be an absolutely amazing girl.



We are also looking for her new forever home, we just need to move her URGENTLY. Her Initial foster home is 5 hours away, so we are hoping somewhere closer to Edinburgh.
