Hi, we're the Anxious Dogs Club 👋
A lot of people tell us they'd like to join the ADC, but they're afraid that their dog would be the loudest, the stressiest or the most fearful.
And they're probably right!
Each of the dogs in this video were newcomers once upon a time. It took time and practice for Nellie to trust others, for Alba to be brave and for Archie to find his playfulness.
Like a lot of things we see on social media, it took a lot of work to make it look this easy.
But they did it. And now they're ready to welcome the next generation of Anxious Dogs (and anxious humans)

It's no secret that supporting fearful and reactive dogs is a huge part of what we do here at Dog and Hound HQ.
This March, we'll be offering a whole month of workshops, community events and coaching courses for Anxious Dogs Club members old and new.
Every Sunday we'll be hosting group video calls for owners of reactive or fearful dogs. Each week we'll talk about the challenges we face with our dogs, and share resources for training or socialisation.
March 20th is #dogsinyellow day. To celebrate we'll be offering socialisation sessions for dogs who are fearful in shop environments.
And there are two places left on our reactivity bootcamp. A month of one to one training sessions, with 24/7 access to behaviourist support and community resources.

Morning everyone. I know this post doesn't apply to the vast majority of you but lately we've been experiencing a surge in anti social/inappropriate behaviour both in and around the shop. On Saturday night, I removed £50 of soiled stock from the shelves. The customer responsible had already been spoken to about their actions and continued to behave inappropriately.
We'll be installing additional cameras going forward. It's sad it has come to this but, as most of you already know that our business is run entirely by myself and family. Around 90% of our income is recycled back into the business- paying overheads, improving our spaces and expanding our ranges. So when you steal from us, vandalise our property or even threaten us it has consequences on both a personal and professional level.
I don't want to dwell on the negative but I hope you'll all support us in upholding a few basic rules for visiting our spaces Thank you to everyone who already follows these rules- you are the majority!
✅ Dogs are welcome in the shop- please toilet your dog before coming into the shop, supervise them at all times and be prepared to take responsibility for any damages or losses.
We are an affiliate of My Anxious Dog UK, and many of our customers have fearful dogs. If you or your dog are behaving in a way which makes the space unsafe or uncomfortable for people or dogs, you will be asked to leave.
✅ Children are also welcome in the shop, but please be aware that their actions are your responsibility too. If a child is behaving in a way which could cause harm, injury or is manhandling dogs inappropriately, you will also be asked to leave.
We also ask that you leave your child's sweets, ice cream and drinks outside or carry them yourself while in the shop. We support many dogs with compromised digestive health and many children's snacks including chocolate and raisins are high risk, toxic foods for dogs.
