This post is one I’ve struggled to find the words for, unfortunately, one I still have to write.

On Sunday 1st September @ 5.30pm, Mount Pleasant Stables will be closing its gates for the last time.
This has not been an easy decision, but with costs spiralling & the ponies not getting any younger, it’s one I’ve had to make.

However, we are still open for the next two weeks (closed Mondays & Fridays) with Pony Days both Tuesdays 20th & 27th. Big Pony Day Thursday 29th & lesson spaces Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd & Wednesday 28th. I’m hoping you’ll continue to support us through to the end & hope to see you soon.

There are no words adequate enough to express my thanks to you for your support & being a part of the incredible journey & memories that have been Mount Pleasant Stables over the past 21 years.

This is the main road leading to the stables, currently 60mph at our junction! We’re hoping to get this reduced to at least 40mph, 30 would be better!

Billy 💙 1992 - 19/11/2023

What can I say about Billy? A once in a lifetime pony, who I was incredibly lucky to of had in my life for the majority of his.

Billy took everything in his stride, practically unflappable, absolutely nothing phased him (except maybe the odd leaf blowing past!) During his life with me he taught countless people to ride, no matter what their ability, Billy could handle it. He was happy to have a go at anything, be it hacking through the countryside, jumping, gymkhana games or fancy dress. Billy was at the centre of it all, through his working life. He had been retired for the last few years and thoroughly enjoyed any pamper & fuss time with whoever gave it. Billy did have his favourite people over the years, usually identified by the extra banana they would bring for him, his favourite treat.

Billy galloped over the Rainbow Bridge last Sunday afternoon. The helpers that were here that day were so incredibly brave.
A big thankyou to Martin, Ruth & Sara for all your help.

Run free Billy, you truly were one of a kind 💙
