To my gorgeous boy, Ernie. The lifeblood of our family for thirteen incredible years. A whole lifetime of happy memories that I will hold close to my heart forever. Not only were you the best sidekick I could’ve ever asked for growing up, you were also a monumental part of our family. The most loving, comical, one of a kind soul. Losing you has hit home in more ways than just sudden loss. It’s re-opened portals of pre-existing grief. Grief that I have carried since losing my first childhood best friend Odie, but more significantly my big brother Dan. You were the last memorable piece of our family home. And now it’s empty, with a void that can never be replaced. Go be with your big brother Odie and my big brother Dan now, my angel 🖤 I pray that one day, the three of you will be waiting for me on the other side, and we can be together again. But for now, look after each other up there my boys 👼🏼 Rest in paradise little Ern.

Everyone meet Gracie. Gracie is looking for her forever home through no fault of her own. She is a 10 week old Lurcher x Saluki female and is your typical puppy with endless love and energy to give.

She has been flead, wormed, microchipped and has received her first vaccination whilst in my care. Per adoption agreement, her second vaccination will be covered by myself in due course (two weeks time). She will need to be lead trained once she has received her second vaccination.

Gracie does have very minor carpal laxity syndrome (bowing) in her front legs as pictured. This is very common in large breed puppies due to their rapid growth rate, and is predominately brought on by malnutrition/a poor diet. This has been checked by a vet, and she is absolutely certain that with the correct nutrition (a complete diet), managing her weight and controlled exercise whilst she is still growing and her bones developing, that this will correct itself, as it does with every puppy. I must stress that this does not affect her in the slightest and is not a cause for concern. She will grow up to be a completely normal, healthy dog.

She is active and busy, so those interested in adopting Gracie should consider if you are able to meet her physical and mental demands, especially as she is still growing and learning at a rapid rate. Gracie would benefit from training classes and settling into a proper routine, especially given she’s at a crucial stage in her development.

She is incredibly loyal and loving, with this in mind she will need time and patience to overcome her slight separation anxiety due to the upheaval she’s had to experience in her short life but I know understanding and security will make all the difference. She is fully pad trained already and is regularly toileting outside. She currently sleeps in a crate, but she does take time to settle.

She adores other dogs, and I’m sure she would love to live with a well rounded neutered resident dog/s to teach and guide her. Alternatively she could be an only dog with owners who are home most of the time/WFH. She has bucket loads of potential and will make a fantastic addition to the family given the chance. I’ve been exposing her to as much as I can whilst she’s been here and she’s taken it all in her stride.

She has been a pleasure to have around, and I will be very sad to see her go, but I would love nothing more than for her to find a family of her own as she deserves all the wonderful things life has in store for her. I’m already finding this extremely difficult. If you are seriously interested in offering this gorgeous girl a forever home then please do not hesitate to get in touch stating what type of home you are able to offer her. Homes will be thoroughly vetted, she will not be going to just anyone. Please consider whether a puppy is right for you and your lifestyle. Adoption fee will apply. Please share!

Last night I received a call from my good friend Olivia at Olivia’s Pet Pals saying that she had very kindly collected a female puppy who was being given away for free on a social media site, and of course I had to help and offer her a warm, safe space to stay for the night. It was clear from the get go that she had formed a special bond with Liv, and felt most comfortable with her. So we have devised a plan going forward that we feel is in her best interest’s until she finds her forever home, in which she stays with Liv and her family with myself as a back up. Any enquires should be made directly to Olivia’s Pet Pals. Let’s find this sweet girl a home 🙏🏻

I would love everyone to meet Elena, a six month old Pug x Staffy female puppy who is looking for her forever home. Understandably she is overwhelmed and very confused at present due to her upheaval, but she is an absolute sweetheart with a beautiful temperament. She is super loving and loyal. I just know it’ll only be a matter of time until she fully decompresses and her wonderful personality will start to shine through. She has been flead, wormed and fully vaccinated. I would love nothing more than for her to find a family of her own as she deserves all the wonderful things life has in store for her. If you are seriously interested in offering this beautiful girl a forever home then please do not hesitate to get in touch. Homes will be thoroughly vetted, she will not be going to just anyone. We will always be her lifeline no matter what, so should any potential adopters circumstances change at any point in their life, she must be returned to us so that I can ensure that she is safe. Wow. Where do we begin 🥹 ..

From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank you enough for the love and kindness you continue to show us year after year. We are still totally overwhelmed with all of our wonderful gifts, tips, cards and most importantly every special message enclosed within them. We are bursting with gratitude right now, and have never felt so valued. It truly is the best feeling in the whole world, knowing we mean so much to you all and that we make a small difference to so many lives ♥️

2023 has been our busiest year yet at Garland’s HQ. We are so grateful to have welcomed SO many amazing new faces to our ever expanding family! But the biggest thank you of all goes to our wonderful regulars who allow us to keep living our dream, even after nearly 6 years. The support you continue to show us is unmatched. 5 days a week. 52 weeks a year. You need us, we’ll be there.

We are thoroughly enjoying our Christmas break but as always, are very eager to see all of our four legged family in 2024. Here’s to another super fun year spent adventuring alongside our best pals. Fingers crossed we’ll be able to announce some big things coming to Garland’s very soon 🤞🏼

We are back! Apologies for being so quiet on the social media front, we are now on our way home from a magical, much needed break with our family 🤗 And are now more than ready to get back to action on Monday! After what was a rocky start to your birthday with your van ignition breaking and not being able to make it home, the wonderful Tom Whapples came to our rescue and saved the entire day on such short notice (for all your vehicle locksmith needs, be sure to get in touch). Super professional, reasonable and just the loveliest person.

And not forgetting the kindest person ever, the one and only Kelly Milford. Not only does she show us unconditional love and support week in, week out by having us walk her lovely Charlie each day. But she redeemed the whole day by treating us both to a birthday dinner, and we can not thank you enough for such an incredible act of kindness. You really are an amazing human being and we are so grateful to have you in our lives ♥️

Questions we always get asked -
“How do they all get along?”
“How many?!”
“Do they ever have disagreements?”

I’d like to think it’s a simple answer. Respect. I am immensely proud of the family dynamic that we have been able to create in every single group - both AM and PM 5 days a week. I truly believe it’s something quite special. Each dog understands and respects one another’s space and boundaries, and that way we are able to create a social haven. Total freedom. In this video, you’ll see that there are dogs from all walks of life - young, old, big, small etc. But it works wonderfully. This has taken years in the making to finesse. Each new starter undergoes a trial period to see how/if they integrate with the pack. We then base their group suitability on this.

We feel so lucky to be able to surround ourselves with such happy little souls on a daily basis. To be able to offer them a safe environment in which they can socialise to their hearts content is something I could’ve only ever have dreamed of. Even better that I get to live the dream alongside my best friend and partner, who the dogs adore. Who knew the way to a dogs heart is Ronan and a new pack of tennis balls each week 😅 P.S. Excuse my voice in this video, this was from a few weeks back when I totally lost my voice. The dogs are all smoked in this video after some intense ball throwing the first half!

We have finally upgraded our fleet! And that’s all down to every single one of you. Your unwavering love and support week in, week out made this possible. You enable us to keep growing. To keep striving. To keep dreaming and achieving. None of which would be possible without you all. Thank you thank you thank you ♥️

We have been so overwhelmed with the demand for some time now, and we were quickly outgrowing Ronan’s small van, so it only felt right that we needed to meet this demand and go BIG! My Dad has been very busy making it totally dog proof by fitting a roof vent, fitted crates, rubber matting and insulation. And we are so pleased that it is now ready for action tomorrow! Just the matching private number plate to go and we will have our very own ‘His and Hers’ 😊

We’ve had a very busy week at Garland’s HQ! Three beautiful souls saved from an uncertain future. All of which were sadly listed on Facebook, free to a good home 😞 Sadly it’s becoming quite the epidemic.

Firstly the lovely Ted. At only 11 months old, he’s missed out on a puppyhood. All of which is now about to change - he’s never known freedom quite like it. He is already safe and secure and he has found his forever home 🤗

Lastly my beautiful girls Joni and Judi. At only 7 weeks old, they were the last two remaining of an accidental litter (Lurcher x Pointer). They have such wonderful little personalities despite their sudden upheaval. So pure and innocent. Extra TLC was required as they were unfortunately full of the biggest worms I’ve ever seen in dogs so tiny. It was clear they needed special, around the clock care given their tender age, so as always I want to thank the lovely Ann at Brecon Dog Rescue for agreeing to take them both on and for giving them the best possible start to life. Good luck Joni and Judi, I know Ann will find you the best, forever homes you could only ever dream of ♥️

Introducing our next ‘Fantastic Four’ additions 😍 -

Duke the ‘BFG’ (Doberman) who is BFF’s with our other giant lad Archie, match made in heaven! I’m a tiny bit obsessed with this super loyal gentlemen who is never too far from my side 😅 And yes he’s the biggest dog I’ve ever seen lol!

Chester the sweetest, kindest soul (Spaniel) who is gradually coming out of his shell with each session. Always giving the best cuddles and kisses. He is just a sweetheart with a beautiful nature.

Sadie who I’m yet to get a photo of (Westie) who is just CRAAAZY! A fabulous addition with energy to burn, and a personality to match. A firecracker!

And last but not least, the bravest, coolest puppy I’ve ever met, our lovely Honey (Cockapoo). This girl is totally bonkers and will play all day given the chance. A very popular girl already, I can’t wait to see her flourish as she grows and matures. She is AWESOME!

Still another newbie yet to announce on our next post who will be worth the wait 😍 It’s been a very busy August and we could not be more grateful for everyone’s continued support and love, week in week out. What an incredible feeling ♥️

Oh Mel you special girl. My girl can be rather guarding of her home environment and has never accepted a dog into her home the way she has with princess Elsa, who came over for a visit. Honestly Mel has this way of understanding and acknowledging emotions like no other, she is always there to be a shoulder to cry on no matter what, and just look at her comforting Elsa. It’s as though she just knows. I am so unbelievably proud of you beautiful girls 🥺

Expectation of open fields vs the reality of pooped dogs 🙈 Honestly the most heartwarming part of this job. A family like no other. Nothing but unconditional love!

What an infectious, joyous little character. This little guy just LOVES life and is a pleasure to be around. As you can tell he’s settled so well within our special family- everyone absolutely adores him, especially his best friend Louis the cocker spaniel 🥰
