On Wednesday 20th May, it was Norman’s 6th birthday. 💙
When the boys were younger, one of our favourite places to visit was Sandsend. They absolutely loved the beach, and it was also the very first place we went as a family when Mr Howard joined us.
We spent the day there with Winnie, who was staying with us that week, and Banjo, Norman’s best friend and mine and Ryan’s adopted nephew. We’re so grateful to both of their owners for letting them come along and be part of such an important day.
While we were there, we scattered Norman’s ashes along the beach.
At first, it felt a little too soon, as though it somehow meant he wasn’t with us anymore. But I know that isn’t true. Deep down, I know this is exactly what he would have wanted. 💕
I’m lucky enough to have some of his ashes in a necklace, and we also have some of his fur and ashes at home. He’s always close to us, wherever we are.
I miss him more than words can say, but taking him back to Sandsend felt so important. It holds so many happy memories for our family, and being able to take him there one last time, on his birthday, made it even more special.
It was an emotional day, but also a beautiful one. A day filled with love, memories, and a reminder that although Norman is no longer by our side, he will always be part of us.
Happy 6th birthday, my beautiful boy. 💙
